Publisher's summary

When a viral apocalypse kills 97 percent of the people on the planet, the survivors' humanity is hanging by a thread. Amid the leftovers of civilization, ex-Army Ranger Jason Larsen is reminded of the meaning of hope, family, and loyalty by a dog and a young boy who are as alone as he is. The survivors he seems to collect become family, and that is very bad news for those who think they run the apocalypse.

Awesome

Just the right everything in this book. Definitely worth buying. While apocalyptic stories can basically be the same, the writing, characters and story can make it different. Can’t wait till the next.

And if you think Covid was bad...

Anyone who considers end of the world scenarios knows that killer pandemics could be the way civilization ends. This is one version of such an event.

A great, great book and Audible

A solid story supported by an exceptional narrator. I can hardly wait until Book 2.

Non-stop action, but little else.

Narrator was excellent. Action was excellent too. But character development and human interest was light.

A lot better than most

Good narration and story. Not up to the borrowed world, but worth a credit. Auditory vacation

AMAZING! Best SHTF book I’ve ever read!

I have decided to finally write this review after listening to this book 3x and completing the series. Well-informed writing with admirable characters that you can emotionally invest in.
A very realistic approach and Anderson’s writing style makes you feel like you are standing next to every character in with perspective. His experience and knowledge comes through in his writing, and his knowledge of weaponry, and Terminology is flawless. Jay Snyder
If I had my way every post, apocalyptic, EMP, and SHTF book would be redone with them as the narrator 10 out of 10 ! Even after all of this, I still find it hard to put into words how simply awesome these books are.
