Publisher's summary

Is mankind headed for destruction? How will it all end? When will it happen? What is man's destiny? Will we die by our own hand or by the hand of God?

For thousands of years, the questions have been the same. Millions of souls have searched for the answers to no avail; nevertheless, some believed they knew. We call them prophets. They saw the end of our world, and they believed their visions were true. Are we to believe their God-given insights into the end of days? Perhaps God did pull back the curtain that blinds man to his future. Maybe these writers did see the end and how it would come upon us.

The prophets of doom revealed a scenario of global cataclysm. They tell the story of rulers bankrupting nations to fund tremendous wars. They tell of weather gone awry; of ice and snow, rain and floods, hurricanes and earthquakes where seldom they occurred. They tell us of what is happening all around us today.

Brutally Painful Narration

I love the content, information, and format but the narration monotone, and boring. If not for the awesome content I’d not even finish it it.

Very Dry poor narration

Could not finish due to the narrator he was very dry, boring, no personality at all and could not bring the characters alive they stayed flat no life or personality as he was tell how boring fell asleep. This could been very enjoyable and learning with a different narrator.

Intriguing

I found this very informative & engrossing. I was concerned that it was going to be A boring One...boy I was wrong! I found myself even rewinding constantly, just to hear it again. My spouse said the voice of the narrator was “different “ , I found the steady sound to be just right for this book. It worked. I enjoyed the book so much I will listen to it again & probably again. Plus I will be purchasing the physical version. This way I can make my own notes & questions easily. I am one who prays for guidance and discernment when I read such things as I believe all should be neutral in their opinions of such things. To many either find the whole topic related to “religion “ as a joke, while others find everything to be the hard truth. Be open & you will find answers, regardless if they agree with others...and do your own research.

Apocalyptic Apocrypha

I received a review copy of this audiobook.

Lumpkin’s introduction was less helpful than in some of the other books I’ve read by him. He seems to be taking the position that all profits are of equal validity, regardless of canonical status. This may not be what he’s actually doing, but it is what he seems to be doing.

The various books gathered here are all apocryphal prophecies of the end times. I found them less compelling than some of the other apocryphal works gathered together by Lumpkin. More than one of these books are compiled from a variety of fragments, and do not exist elsewhere as the whole contained here.
