The fourth book in the fan favorite Benjamin Ashwood series follows Ben as he journeys into the unknown. Behind him, the prospect of war builds between two powerful factions. A threat to all of Alcott looms in the north. Ben and his party seek to secure a powerful weapon which can eliminate the threat once and for all.

great continuing story

seems bengi keeps adding to the list of those indeferent about the demon problem, shows what the ruling classes really think about... themselves....
interesting, and at the same time frustrating...

This series is unbelievably good. Mr. Cobble is right up there with Token!!! Great characters and growth of those characters along the way... love it!!

Simple Story.

If you've enjoyed the last three books then you'll enjoy this one too.

The story is simple and the character interactions are at times awkward, but the book and story have a simple charm to them that I enjoy.

another story in the series

I like the series but sometimes the main characters is so whiny and you don't really feel it until the performance and it's verbalized but it really comes out how whiny they are and just when you think they're going to mature a little they revert back but I guess it's a necessary development in the character. You absolutely have to read the other books before this for it to make sense

Another great addition to the story or Ben Ashwood

Well paced flow and likable characters make this book well worth a listen. Narrator's Voices and inflections really make the book come alive! I'm already waiting the next installment!! Hopefully, it will be soon!

So far so good!

I gotta say I really enjoyed the ending of this book, it has everything in a fantasy I like. Sometimes fantasy series don’t have interesting endings if it’s a book in the middle of a series. I’ll definitely be listening to the next one, and am interested to see how the ending plays out.

the story marches on

I like where this this going, and the writing is improving. This story line is getting involved and more complex. The characters are getting more real and believable. occasionally we still see some of the over idealized hero in Ben, but it is lightening up.
The over use of phrases is still one of the annoyances in the writing: eyes rolling, and mage-wrought steel became tiresome by the end of the book.

But I am still enjoying the story, and will read the next volume.

Better and Better

This series honestly gets better and better. As Ben continues his journey to save the world, characters build, change, and develop.
Nothing is as it seems, and you must experience the adventure to obtain the reward.

Not bad, not great

I like the story, and it has great potential, But seems to run on a little too much for me. Also it’s a little too merchandised in that each book is about 12 hours long so you’re forced to buy each small book to get to the end of the story where they could’ve put it in just two or three books.
The main character is just kind of blah he’s kind of good with a sword he could possibly do magic if the author whatever do anything with that part of the story so he’s just a normal guy in a group of extraordinary people. I keep waiting for him to show some kind of awesome something… But here In the fourth Book He still is just a guy with a sword with no real special ability, I don’t think he’s going to do anything special through the series so I don’t know if I’m going to purchase the Fifth book.

I like some of the secondary characters in the story like i said has potential but just doesn’t seem to go anywhere.

It’s not all bad I actually like some of the action scenes but details are missing in the rest of the story.

The performances pretty good overall and the book is worth reading if you have the time and you don’t have something better to read.
