Continued inconsistencies
The author can't count...he keeps referring to the group surviving the farm as 5....there are 2 women, 2 men, and 2 children. Doesn't anyone proof read ? Cayan pepper stops artial bleeding? Not likely. Everyone knows aspirin thins blood - why would it be given to someone bleeding from an amputation? And Gabriel's group meets up with another bunch of freaks? No further plot options? And Jessica tried to pump gas with no electricity- duh. And gas old enough to be $1.18? If she had been able to get it somehow it would have fouled the entire tank.
A caravan towing trailers would gain on an SUV going 100mph? Stupid. And people kind enough to give medical care to Dillion and serve spaghetti actually were robbing travelers with children at gunpoint?

ok for back ground noise
Made it this far, but won't be going any further. Story is passable the characters is where the problem is. They come off as just plain dumb, dim witted, not very smart at all. Story is rather predictable , how the antagonists are created is a change. it's difficult to believe most of these characters actually lived passed a day or two.

It was ok
I found this story to be extremely frustrating. Many of the characters were unlikable. Even after listening to 6 books, I couldn't pick on character that I would say I enjoyed. Yes, some were less annoying then others, but it wasn't enough to draw me in. I've heard better and worse.
