Very intriguing book it enhances the importance of emotional learning in our society. At university we acquire the skills to get a job but we need emotional intelligence to progress in it.

Listen with intervals to get the best out of it

Listen through few chapters i really like it how to emotionally balance yourself at workplace. Sometimes it gets boring but we need to switch back and forth to get complete gist of it.

The material in the book helps to understand first of all one's own emotions and the way one react and take decisions helping to improve perception and understanding of others. A must listen!!!

Purchased, Emotional Intelligence

This book lays a strong foundation for the argument of the importance of emotional intelligence. In fact, my teenage daughter has started to listen the book and I'm sure it will help her to get light years ahead of others in her same age simply because these qualities are not emphasized in school as much as rational/logical intelligence and tests. Also, the book is a great way to measure your level of emotional development and find areas where you need to improve.

Very interesting on what part emotions play

This was a solid book on the basics of EQ. It worked its way from the actual response in the brain to what shapes the response that a person will have. A big focus was towards children and the impact growing up has on a person. I would have liked to see more about the role of EQ in the work place and how to improve and develop better EQ int he workplace tough.

A interesting and insightful look

Even after 20 years this topic is just beginning to be taken seriously. Emotional Intelligence reminds us that people are more than a traditional IQ. Very valuable for anyone who wants to build a cohesive team or to learn to motivate others.

Value in Emotional Intelligence

Excellent book. I listen it for my seminary class. I was not enjoying the early chapters on anatomy of brain; that's just not my wheelhouse. But the sociological and psychological stuff was profound.

The book was very technical at points. It was also very interesting listen and I am glad I know more about emotional intelligence.

Great ideas, a bit difficult to get through.

Great ideas, a bit difficult to get through. What you get out of this depends the angle of which you approach it. I was looking more so for a business application, however there was a huge tangent towards children’s emotional education. Although it’s great content, it was what I was looking for.

Was useful for reference in research paper, however I believe there are better references to be found. Do more research on the subject.
