Great book

This book provides lots helpful information about emotional intelligence. It presents information that is extremely relevant to today's workplace. Great book about how to be more emotionally intelligent and how true success is more predicated on being emotionally intelligent than just being intelligent. This is a good reference to have around when you find yourself less than excited about life and the people you share it with.

valuable info

the research presented in this book was both good science and well presented. I only wish there more examples & stories. But it was quicker without them, so we got the point sooner.

I Need This

It is amazing how many of us do not have a clue about EI! Especially us men. Bold, strong, courageous, literally willing to lay our lives down... yet, many times hurting the ones we love (and those in the workplace and other areas of life).

Insightful and a good starting

This book had great technical content balanced with analogies the lay person could appreciate. I found this book a page turner and left me hungry to learn more about EI. The techniques described are really useful and I can see how I can take this learning into my work place.

great subject matter - repetitive

The tonality of the author becomes hard work after a few hour. The content is brilliant and clearly Daniel knows his stuff, but at times I felt like I needed a background in brain surgery.

Simply mind opening!

A lot of good information is shared here. I found, for myself, that listening to this book while following along made understanding this complex topic easier. I learned a lot of the early on importance of educating children in emotion intelligence to help lower the risk of future depression, alcohol and drug abuse and to help them succeed more in life. Be prepared for some very deep topics to be discussed.

Technically proficient

I've started this book twice before. I finished this time. While I think there is a wealth of information about the subject of emotional intelligence, I wish there was more practical application to increase one's EI.

What it takes to be aware

Very good book was kinda boring at times so I had to listen to it twice to acquire all the information. I recommend this to everyone I know for the simple fact that I believe we should all be aware of what are emotions are telling us and work with that to make better decisions in the way we talk/treat others and make the necessary changes to be better as humans. Going to purchase the physical copy to add to my collection as I believe this is a must have in order to make better life decisions. This is literally the manual to people's feelings and how you can help yourself and others through the traps we put ourselves in.

Enlightening

This is a good introduction to EQ. I enjoyed taking a peek at how different people have various emotional skill levels. I feel the whole concept of the book is well supported by the cited research and case studies.
