Reviews are mostly fake with a few honest

Did not make it far in this book - don't believe the positive reviews - look a little closer all five stars are given on blocks of the same days. Many reviews make little sense - starting to find out the psychology section at audible is full of fake reviews- beware!

Not worth your time.

I think there must be a bot who is positively rating this book. It's terrible. Nothing remotely unique or interesting.

An Introduction for non-humans

These books have a very Dr. Phil vibe. Some in the series are better than others but overall a let down. The author rambles on about obvious things. I couldn't get through it.

Way too Simple

The book is filled with the obvious. Might be OK for someone at the start of their life, but not for someone who has been "around the block a few times"

Hmmmmm....

Surface information only not really helpful for me. Little information about a lot of things, a lot of information about nothing. Performers where monotone and not very inspiring. I did listen to entire book because I’m not a quitter. I did enjoy the chapters on spotting someone who was telling a lie. Over all not happy with selection. I would not recommend.

A great advice

Everyone can do better with learning how to use their emotions to their advantage rather than emotions controlling them. Also great advice on working with others and understanding other people

Fair.

It didn’t keep my interest. Many parts seemed to be more akin to advice. Also, it is broken down into many short segments rather than a more coherent overall explanation of EI.

Give it a try

The tips and tools contained within the book are easy to apply to empower your self to grow and develop with your own social emotional development and if you work with students as I do it's useful to encourage their development to build relationships, resilience and experience success in their life as well as your own.

Audio book

First off, this book was purchased for my wife, she wanted to listen it as she has heard good things about the book. I ended up listen it and found that I could not put it down. There are some very informative things listed in here that gave me the desire to try and understand the entire person before jumping to a conclusion based off one incident. I enjoyed it.

Good foundation

I honestly thought on this book I was going to find a lot of scientifically based advice on how to behave in situations where my emotions go out of control but found myself listen a book that though informative meet my expectations in terms of utility for my personal life. I do consider though it is a good foundation book to start building on my emotional literacy.

Good book In most areas

This book has a lot of good points.
I will have to say has generalised a lot.
The NLP part he has generalised all NLP practitioner as manipulating people their not. It was not created for this point. Richard and Jhon created this for helping people. Yes I will agree it has missed used for some, but it is used by others for helping others who general use is to help people as a therapy just like CBT.
