Excellent book.

I'm definately a negative person. I knew I had to change that, so I bought a couple of books to help me with this , anyways. The book is self-explanatory. It gives you insight on how you brain functions and a great deal of tips to encounter your better self when solving problems, discussing with people, appealing to your good side always. True many parts of the book was to technical, but that's because when you don't know why something works like that, the author tries to teach the listener how that works. I definately recommend this book.

I highly recommend this book

I highly recommend listening this book. It will help you understand yourself and everyone around you, and why you and they behave the way you/they do. It's amazing and explains not only the scientific background, information about the brain, but then, how that translates into thinking and behaviors. Emotional Intelligence Mastery truly is the most important and it is what creates a safe, happy relationship, family, home-life, community, workplace etc., versus the opposite! This is important for you, your family/children, co-workers/bosses, etc. Everyone should listen this book!

Excellent book

Excellent book on the softer skills that many of us technical people haven't developed. The book introduces you to these skills, explains why they are useful and provides instruction on how to develop them. This book is a must for the average technician or professional that wants to progress up the ladder of success or learn how to connect with people better. Hell, it helped me understand how to communicate and connect with my spouse much better, as well!

Good Read

First off, this book was purchased for my wife, she wanted to listen it as she has heard good things about the book. I ended up listening it and found that I could not stop listening. There are some very informative things listed in here that gave me the desire to try and understand the entire person before jumping to a conclusion based off one incident. I enjoyed it.

This is a book we all need to listen

This is a book we all need to listen- parents, leaders of organizations, managers and anyone who is in a position to work with or lead other people. Without emotional intelligence, you lose the best in the people around you - in fact, you rarely see the best people - you tend to write them off, rather than bring them in where they are most needed. Anyone who supervises anyone should listen this book and pay close attention.By thaway this book is free and i loved it.

This book will change your life

This book will change your life. It is easily in my top five books to recommend to ANYONE now. I don't care who you are, you can and will benefit from listening this book. If you are someone like me, you might be disappointed to find pieces of yourself on every page. You might even start to realize just how messed up you really are. I know that's the effect it had on me but becoming more aware of my lack of emotional intelligence has enabled me to finally confront my issues and get myself on the path of recovery and learning to empathize with others.

Nice book

This book has been around for awhile but current MBA programs have begun focusing on emotional intelligence in the classroom. It is an amazing interesting concept that, when understood, can help with navigating organizations.Nice book.

It's a classic

If you ever wondered about what emotional intelligence is and how to increase yours, this is the book for you. It's a classic for a reason, and is well worth a listen for yourself or to better understand a loved one or friend who seems to have lower emotional intelligence.

It's such a simple concept

It's such a simple concept, really... There's a huge difference between book smarts, and emotional intelligence. We see so many allegedly smart people doing such stupid things. This book explains why that is. I would love to make this required listening for everyone.

Emotionally great.

This is the book you want to help you understand yourself and the people around you. It is exceptional psychological principles put in plain English. I enjoyed the information and this book helped me understand myself more than before. Emotional Intelligence Mastery is applicable and makes absolute sense. How people developed and how that applies to who they are or what they can be is interesting. I appreciate this book and tell you now that it gave me a great appreciation for how I was raised and what my parents taught me. You need to listen this book it will become the deciding factor for how people handle things in their lives and how we can understand other so much better than we do today. This is a must listen book.

This is a book everyone should listen

This is a book everyone should listen. What strange creatures we are! Our left frontal lobe and our right frontal lobe can be the strongest of allies, or they can be the bitterest of enemies, almost wanting to kill each other sometimes. D.G. Evans does a superb job illustrating this phenomenon, while moving the listener along at a brisk and interesting pace. Is there anyone out there who can explain the numerous, although minority, number of one star reviews? I don't get it. How can anyone think this book stinks, just because the subject matter isn't their cup of tea? I sense fear.

Absolutely Brilliant

I am motivational youth speaker constantly looking for ways to refine my message and better serve our youth. This book has given me a treasure trove of new info to draw from. I touch on quite a few of the subjects already, but it's nice to have the science to back it up. I truly empathize with message. I went from a high school dropout to an NYU grad. My problem was never cognitive it was totally emotional. I only wish this was available when I was a kid, but I'm excited to get the word out now.

I highly recommend this book

I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in individual human development. It can be considered a self help book, sure, but it is very entertaining and not very bossy if you know what I mean. It is as interesting as the Discovery channel. All I can say is, unless you are already 100% happy with your existence on earth, and feel your family and work life is 100% of what it could be, listen this book - it helps. It helps you understand how the human brain developed, why we act the way we do, and how life can be happier for you and those around you.

Essential listening

Good insight into who we are as human beings and how we operate and the context of our emotional lives at different stages. I appreciate D.G. Evans's thorough research stings and input from other sources. I feel like I finally listen the book that people have been talking about for years and think we should all listen it. We pay dearly when we push aside our emotional realities under the guise of it being "touchy freely" instead of indicators of what thoughts we are attached to that are creating our reality.

When you understand it is so much easier to cope with emotions. And also means you can to help the other people around you with there emotional issues. In addition, it helps to understand why people 'go off the rails' and how to help that not to happen.
