Publisher's Summary

Do you want to stop the destructive emotion that slows the achievement of your personal, professional, and social successes?

What can you make you happy beyond your imagination?

Emotions are one of the most powerful driving forces in our lives and being able to understand the effect they have on your life can be the first step in learning how to have better control over them and how to use them to make positive, impactful changes in your life. Interest in emotional intelligence and neuroplasticity has increased as more and more women realize how much this aspect of intelligence that has traditionally been ignored by their communities and society.

Overthinking is different from problem-solving, which focuses on solutions and sorts out what you can control from what you can’t control. It differs from self-reflection, which is purposefully learning about yourself to gain perspective on situations, without thinking harshly about yourself. Overthinking does nothing to enhance your life because it focuses on things you can’t control, such as an event that already happened.

Manipulators are not the same as persuaders and influencers, those friends in our lives who recommend dentists and vacation spots and one candidate over another. Manipulators use mental distortion and psychological exploitation to exert undue influence over others. They will seize whatever they want without regard for your feelings, and you will be left wondering what happened.

Connect with people to succeed in life

Excellent audiobook on the softer skills that many of us technical people haven't developed. The audio book introduces you to these skills, explains why they are useful and provides instruction on how to develop them. This is a must for the average technician or professional that wants to progress up the ladder of success or learn how to connect.

A must listen for the informed human

Although I would love to see a modern revision that includes more research from the last two decades, this "EQ Emotional Intelligence" audiobook still holds a plethora of lessons for every leader, parent, teacher, and truly anyone who cares to better themselves and others. Should be required listening for everyone.

The importance of emotional intelligence in daily.

You could be the smartest in your class/group/area of work, but continually fail in other areas of your life where “success” and a “lucrative career” don’t do you justice in the face of happiness...this book explains HOW and WHY emotional intelligence is important in every practice of life.At a time in our country and globally when courtesy and bullying seems to be front and center more than it should be, this is a thoughtful book that points out many issues facing all of us at some points in our life.

Some of the greatest articles from E I.

I am an avid listener of hbr and I've really tried to step up my reading about EI. There are several great articles but the articles in the end of the book seem to struggle to add value. It's a great book but you may be better off getting a subscription and pull up more articles on your own.And most importantly understand what others mean based off their emotions.
