Publisher's Summary

Would you like to master the art of personal magnetism and building meaningful relationships with people in your personal and professional life? If yes, then pay attention....

In today's highly competitive and confrontational world, it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to have worthwhile conversations, connect with other people, or disagree with differing opinions without flaring up in emotional outbursts that often accomplish nothing and only estrange you further from the goal you are trying to achieve.

Being emotionally intelligent in today's world is more important than ever, and if you're looking for effective tools and strategies to help you develop your emotional intelligence, then you've come to the right place.

An individual who knows how to effectively defuse stressful situations, communicate effectively and bring other people to their side will always be ahead of the pack.

In Emotional Intelligence, Alex C. Wolf pulls back the curtain on why the emotional quotient (EQ) might even be a better predictor of success than its well-known counterpart and help you discover how you can get emotions to work for you instead of against you.

In this guide, you're going to uncover:

  • The nine-point checklist to find out if you're emotionally intelligent
  • Ten foolproof ways to improve your emotional intelligence
  • The five main components of emotional intelligence
  • Eleven powerful steps to recognize your emotions and get it under control

Brilliant audio book

Everyone knows that high IQ is no guarantee of success, happiness, or virtue, but until Emotional Intelligence, we could only guess why. Alex C. Wolf brilliant report from the frontiers of psychology and neuroscience offers startling new insight into our “two minds”—the rational and the emotional—and how they together shape our destiny.

Thought provoking book - a must listen

This book has been around for awhile but current MBA programs have begun focusing on emotional intelligence in the classroom. It is an amazing interesting concept that, when understood, can help with navigating organizations.

A word of caution for prospective listener - this reads more like a textbook than a story. It is worth the effort but don't go in assuming the pages will fly by.

Excellent and the one of the most important book

I highly recommend this audio book. It will help you understand yourself and everyone around you, and why you and they behave the way you/they do. It's amazing and explains not only the scientific background, information about the brain, but then, how that translates into thinking and behaviors. Emotional Intelligence truly is the most important and it is what creates a safe, happy relationship, family, home-life, community, workplace etc., versus the opposite! This is important for you, your family/children, co-workers/bosses, etc. Everyone should listen this book!

This book will change your life.

This book will change your life. It is easily in my top five books to recommend to ANYONE now. I don't care who you are, you can and will benefit from reading this book. If you are someone like me, you might be disappointed to find pieces of yourself on every page. You might even start to realize just how messed up you really are. I know that's the effect it had on me but becoming more aware of my lack of emotional intelligence has enabled me to finally confront my issues and get myself on the path of recovery and learning to empathize with others.

Good book

Emotional Intelligence: Why it can matter more than IQ (Leading with...,to gain a better awareness and to be able to control of my emotions when interfacing with others. I wanted to be able to learn to use my emotions in a positive way instead of letting my emotions use me. In the position that I am in this technique is very important. I purchased the audio to use on my commute to and from work. Good book, recommend to others who want personal growth.

Emotional Intelligence is a better judge

I still have to listen to the audio version. Emotional Intelligence does a better job of telling your success rate than the normal IQ. Going to take a class on this at work

Great skills audio book

It has some crucial skills of emotional intelligence, and shows how they determine our success in relationships, work, and even our physical well-being. What emerges is an entirely new way to talk about being smart.

Excellent book.

The book is self-explanatory. It gives you insight on how you brain functions and a great deal of tips to encounter your better self when solving problems, discussing with people, appealing to your good side always. True many parts of the book was to technical, but that's because when you don't know why something works like that, the author tries to teach the listener how that works.

Connect with people to succeed in life

Excellent book on the softer skills that many of us technical people haven't developed. The book introduces you to these skills, explains why they are useful and provides instruction on how to develop them. This book is a must for the average technician or professional that wants to progress up the ladder of success or learn how to connect with people better. Hell, it helped me understand how to communicate and connect with my spouse much better, as well!

Absolutely Brilliant

I am motivational youth speaker constantly looking for ways to refine my message and better serve our youth. This book has given me a treasure trove of new info to draw from. I touch on quite a few of the subjects already, but it's nice to have the science to back it up. I truly empathize with message. I went from a high school dropout to an NYU grad. My problem was never cognitive it was totally emotional. I only wish this was available when I was a kid, but I'm excited to get the word out now.

Get insight would recommend

If you work with other people on a regular basis then this is for you. Do you socialize on a regular basis, then this is for you. Get insight would recommend for anyone in a management position. It certainly helps you understand things from a intellectual perspective.

Good foundation

If you want to understand your emotions in depth, Alex C. Wolf does a superb job of breaking it down scientifically. It will arm anyone with the tools to deal with internal struggles as well as conflicts in relationships. I gave it four stars because it sounds extremely pompous sometimes. seriously? What's wrong with gap. Anyway great book that needs to be edited with more accessible language.

Knowledgeable audio book

Emotional intelligence is probably a very deciding factor in success. It is however by far more difficult to measure someone's EQ instead of IQ so you just have to trust the writings and go ahead with the knowledge. There's a lot being offered within the book and if you want to get ahead of the crowd there's even another book 'Emotional Intelligence in Action'.

Feeling good

This book makes life easier. My partner and I both listen it, and we are constantly referencing the book to explain what we are feeling, or to have a better grasp on society, and the world around us.

Analysis audio book

A foundation analysis on what works in relationship building. Best book since Alex C. Wolf suggested we were or were not OK. A long deep psychological treatment of human emotions. Deep, weighty, has incredible "thud" power using behavioral research to explain why smart is good but emotionally smart is better.

Dimension to your life

I think this book is good and can add another dimension to your life. However, I think you would need to be a determined listener to get through all of this book, as I did not think the book was all that interesting.
