Publisher's Summary

Never let your emotions overpower your intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is a solid foundation that will allow a person to have the ability to understand their own emotions and those of other people who they may encounter. In today’s corporate world, it’s essential that a person knows how to control their emotions in order to climb the corporate ladder of success.

It is important that people recognize their own emotions and those of others. They must know when to discern between different feelings and label them appropriately. Knowing how to use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior and manage or adjust emotions will allow the ability to adapt to environments or meet one's goal.

Many businesses are now incorporating an emotional intelligence test in their hiring practice. Emotional intelligence has been proven to influence our behavior and relationships. Emotional intelligence is synonymous with self-awareness because it enables us to live our lives with intention, purpose, and autonomy.

In a person’s personal life, emotional intelligence will be a personal asset for it to show how to help strengthen relationships, adopt a more open mind-set, improve communication, and provide aid in conflict resolution.

Taking the time to improve emotional skills is essential to both your professional and personal life. This book provides in-depth knowledge and guidance that will allow you to become educated on knowing all that's required to master your emotional intelligence and be able to have it work to your advantage.

It discusses the qualities of people with high emotional intelligence, enhanced ways to improve a person’s emotional intelligence, and practical ways to improve your emotional intelligence. The advice is easy to understand and will take you to a new level of maturity. It has the power to open up a new outlook on life.

Just ok

This book was extremely repetitive and probably could have covered all the content in 1 hour or less

I follow this audiobook is well

The product was new and in good condition and it included the code for the emotional intelligence test. There is a one time code in the back of the audiobook to take an online test to track your EQ scores as you listen to the audiobook.

Excellent advice in this audiobook.

Excellent advice in this audiobook. This should be required to listen to all managers all the way to EQ. Everyone can do better with learning how to use their emotions to their advantage rather than emotions controlling them.

Good information and easy to follow

I can see myself looking over these over and over again in the future to tackle specific parts of myself that need improving and really iterating and focusing on those.

This portion of the audiobook is amazing.

This portion of the audiobook is amazing. There's a lot there that's intuitive to most and some that are intuitive for some, maybe for others. Having them broken up in these sections with specific headers makes them a really useful reference for small and slow improvement.

Emotional Intelligence was a fantastic audiobook.

Emotional Intelligence was a fantastic audiobook. The first half sets up the idea of emotional intelligence. This part is a bit droll and felt a little like they were trying really hard to validate and justify the audiobook and their teachings and EQ.

Not what expected

The book has given few ideas but very few real world examples. Mostly the author is providing information in a bulleted form. No body can remember anything 2 minutes after listening.
The author should have provided more examples and should describe the points in a story rather than bullets
