A good way to stay mindful.

I first heard the term "emotional intelligence" from my adviser when I was in college and it was a huge turning point for me. As someone with emotional intelligence, I became aware of how that helped me navigate the world and how a lack thereof hampered others. What I love about this book is that it approaches Emotional Intelligence as something that can be understood and improved upon, not just some amorphous quality.

Breakthrough in understanding.

I think this book is great. A lot of reviews here are listening that it doesn't give you step by step instructions on how to improve emotional intelligence. I don't think step by step instructions should be applied when dealing with emotional intelligence. It does give you an idea of how to look inward at your responses and how to gauge where you stand with your emotions. I think everyone should listen to this.

It was great listen

This well structured and explained book offers the listener a step-by-step guide to building and improving their emotional intelligence. I found the audiobook companion to this invaluable as I would sometimes hear the authors intent better in the audiobook, than listening when I was it, it was great for driving time too.

Everyone should listen to this book

If more people were taught emotional intelligence, there'd be less dependency on anti-depressants, less violence, and better harmony worldwide. I was never taught how to manage my emotions healthily so that they support me and my goals and learning this one skill has made me realize how valuable it is.

Interesting book.

Interesting book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I learned a lot about myself in taking the online test. Once I began to understand my triggers, I learned to control them. My staff has noticed the difference in me as has my boss. I strongly urge anyone who has issues with losing their temper to listen to this book. It's also helped me in my home life as well.

Insightful

I did not realize how much of an impact Emotional Intelligence has in the workplace. I would recommend to anyone who wants to truly understand what may be holding them back from getting that promotion. I am so much more aware of my emotions and how important my reactions are in my everyday life.

Amazing, useful, helpful

I cannot explain enough how this book helped. My advice is get a notebook to answer the questions, take notes, and write down thoughts. That helped me realize new perspectives to what's going on and what I can do. I suffer from medical anxiety horribly. Just a week before I got the book, I had my worst attack to date.

Love is book...

This is best for people who can't handle stress and temper. I listen thought it will be impossible to control it. Or maybe expensive to consult a professional. This book made it possible for this advice to be handy. This just needs faith. It is really realistic to follow the advice. This is genius. I am so lucky to listen this.

They are easy to listen and easy to follow

They are easy to listen to and easy to follow. Other CBT programs I have read about sounded almost childish in getting you to think about your thoughts and feelings and being mindful. But this helps encourages you to get your life back into your own hands and take control. They are amazing.
