Unplanned Path Taken
The author provides a sweet story of a woman who faces unexpected change. Emma is thrust into an unplanned situation by David as a part of his last will and testament. Making a decision on uprooting her life and going into the unknown was disconcerting, to say the least. David was like a father to her, yet he had not revealed all his history to Emma. The whys and wherefores of David's plans for Emma are the mystery she tries to solve.
The story walks along Emma's path as she finds new ways to frame her decisions. The new relationships she makes along the way keeps her walking a fine line between the old and the new. I really liked the way it reflected how people are often not willing to make changes. There is a nice underlying foundation of faith and belief in God.
The pace of the narration was good, as was the quality of the audible. The shift between the characters with subtle voice changes helped paint the characters in my imagination. The tone of the various conversations followed the story line.
I look forward to more stories by K Wendt.

Emma's Journey Into the Unknown
Emma's Journey was a good listen. It was refreshing because it was truly heart-warming and it defined friendship as something that can last even between two completely different individuals. David and Emma's relationship was not conventional, but they managed to keep it; and it even went on beyond death - not in a creepy way :-).
I love that the story revolved mostly on Emma's unexpectedly discovery of David's past life in his small hometown rather than on the past that they shared - in that way, the story stayed true to its theme. I also admired the way the author introduced each character, giving each one of them their own highlights in the story.
All in all, the story is something that I would highly recommend to anyone needing an inspirational read/listen. Alyssa Baumann narrated this book to perfection. I love how soothing and relaxing her voice was - without making me fall asleep.

Unique story
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. The story line was fresh and different. The story was unique and I loved the unexpected journey it took the heroin on. I loved that it wasn't a typical story with a perfect ending. It did seem a little simple at times but I enjoyed it very much and the performance was nice to listen to and did a good job with the different character voices. I would suggest this title to friends and family. It didn't have vulgar language or graphic scenes that I don't enjoy. Very well done! I would read more by this author and listen to more by the narrator.

Inspirational!
When looking for something to relax my mind, I look for an inspirational listen. This story by K Wendy fit the bill. Emma's good friend, David has passed away, and much to her surprise, he left her all of his estate. But with this. comes some decisions that Emma has to make. Not near her home now, Emma travels to David's home and meets some people that have nothing nice to say about him. Deciding to stay to defend her friend and make some life altering decisions, Emma starts her journey. This story is about self realization, reorganizing priorities and finding your faith. The story includes a lot faith in God, trusting in love and discovering a new path. It truly is a warm and endearing story. Narrated by Alyssa Baumann, the story flows easily and is an enjoyable listen.

Lovely Read!
I don't typically get into Christian novels, but this one was very compelling and engaging.
You can't help empathizing with the situation Emma finds herself in and even though there are some rather predictable parts, you are excited to follow along with every step in her journey.
The premises is a unique one and the characters are well developed and it is a great length in my humble opinion.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
