MaryEllen Roberts awoke with a start and quickly sat up in bed. How many times did she have to keep dreaming the horrible nightmare of dancing with Benny at the Valentine's Day dance and experiencing that awful moment when the seams of her new dress suddenly tore apart and then feeling the awful realization that her new dress was sliding down her legs? She'd never forget the shocked look on Benny's face as he hurried and removed his suit jacket and helped her wrap it around her to try to protect her from all of the glaring stares! What must he think of her now?

When Joy heard the awful news, she couldn't help thinking it wasn't an accident. She was positive that Darla wouldn't do such a thing; but she had a sneaking suspicion that her daughter, Emma, might since she had wanted to go to the dance with Benny. She hated to do it; but she needed to have a talk with Darla...and the sooner the better. Fortunately, Darla was receptive to her news and very shocked that the dress she had made for MaryEllen had ripped apart at the seams. Both Joy and Darla decide it's better to confront Emma now before history had a chance to repeat itself.
