Publisher's summary

Emily Monroe may be a lot of things, but one thing is for sure, she is not the Chosen One.

Emily has a long day. After fending off another villainous attack during the night shift at Big Burger, all she wants to do is to go home and get some sleep as the sun rises.

What's an unpowered girl to do in a super-powered world when she gets home to find the most notorious villain of Big City in her kitchen?

An even more dangerous threat to the city takes precedence as after Containment's detention facility is damaged, dozens of criminals escape. But the biggest threat? The person hired to replace the Chosen One as the city's protector...Mega-Girl!

A fitting ending to the most fun superhero series in recent memory!

I started reading this book series with the first poem and I enjoyed it. I was disappointed that this particular story wasn’t available on this site for sometime. Still, it ended up getting here eventually and I’m glad.

I love the characters and I was rooting for most of them over the course of this entire series! The stand out characters were easily Emily, Violet, and Echo. I’m really curious about Violet’s backstory and if Erik gives the Blue Canary her own trilogy I would happily read it.

I liked Wendy’s character but she felt a little bit under developed. She has lots of room to grow and I’m looking forward to that. As for the love interest her character seemed a flat and uninteresting. The other characters weren’t nearly as Intriguing as they needed more time to develop personalities.

The romance was well done and the couples were cute. The character interactions and banter between Emily and her girlfriend were well presented and fun to listen to. I’m still a little bit surprised that this was written by a male author. Perhaps if I were a female reader might be able to spot more flaws.

The fight scenes were pretty good but I dislike the fact that Megagirl was basically taken out with one punch. I was hoping that she would put up more of a fight. Still, the rest of the action was good.

I hope a series of books/anthology focusing on the individual exploits of these characters is in the works. I’m eager to see more of this world, history, and characters. I also wouldn’t mind a 4th book or at least more adventures with Emily and Wendy.

Overall, this is the most fun I’ve had with the superhero story of any time in a long time. Let alone one with interesting and relatable Qreer characters.
