Publisher's summary

I didn't set out to be a pirate.

Life for me was about surviving the ugliness that people knew existed but didn't talk about.

I lived in hell.

Then I saw her.

I knew I couldn't keep her, but for just a little while I had found heaven.

Eight years later, I can't get her out of my head.

It is a mistake sailing to her island.

It is a mistake reaching out to her.

She doesn't recognize me. Or maybe she does.

Closure, it is all I'm after.

Then my past comes back to haunt me.

She's thrust into my ruthless world. An angel.

A romantic who has a journal that leads to a shipwreck and a lost treasure.

She wants to find the ending to a love story that is over 200 years in the making.

I want to help her find it.

I didn't set out to be a pirate.

I didn't set out to fall in love with an angel.

I did both anyway.

Elusive is a contemporary, modern day romance. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for listeners under the age of 18.

AN EPIC SAGA OF MURDER, MAYHEM, MYSTERY & LOVE

I knew L. A. Fiore was good.. but, with this breathtaking epic romance that spans years, she has truly excelled herself in every way. In the Prologue you're transported back in time to witness a Spanish Sea Captain writing to his beloved wife before his galleon sinks. Then, centuries later chapter one starts in 1999.. teenage Willow is living with her loving grandfather because her absentee uncaring parents are far too busy searching for lost treasures in far flung places across the globe. Willow's grandfather runs a Museum and it's there that Willow becomes fascinated with archeology and her fanciful yet brilliant mind ponders over what wondrous stories the objects could tell about their long dead owners and the drastically different lives they once led.

In 1999 we also meet Kace a fourteen yr old homeless boy who was forced to grow up the hard way.. in foster care and then on the streets. The friendships he formed with Snake, Einstein and a few others will last a lifetime as they form an unbreakeable Brotherhood.. and these likeminded friends will, through hardship and bad times, eventually become Kace's trusted pirate comrades as they embark on a dangerous life of pillage and plunder aboard stolen ships with a very different Kace at the helm. But before then he first meets an angel.

Over the years Willow had also developed a fascination with the ocean so incorporated both in her chosen career of discovering lost treasures lying beneath the ocean. After graduating Willow travels to Cancun to see what treasures lurk within its collections of antiquities.. and it's there that she meets a handsome young man called Kace. Kace was first struck by his angel's vibrant red hair.. then it was her kindness, her beauty, her free spirit, her magical thoughts of times gone by, her beautiful heart and their soul-to-soul connection that totally captivated him. They were instantly attracted to each other.. soulmates.. lovers who'd had very different lives.. and who were destined for very different futures. But before Willow left Cancun Kace gave her a centuries old Captain's Journal that would, years later, send them off on a quest to find a sunken galleon, retrieve a very special necklace, return it to its rightful heir and let the world know of a doomed Spanish love story. Kace and Willow's time together was far too short and it had heartbreaking consequences too because it was there that Kace's life would take a deadly turn - one that would condemned Kace and his friends to a nomadic pirate's life.

For many years these two star-crossed lovers felt the pull of their invisible connection, could only reflect on and dream about the romantic sexy times in Cancun.. dream about a lost love.. dream about what could have been.. and dream about a love that would never be. Then came the day they were reunited.. and what happened next sent my pulse racing. Because the suspense, the sex, the passion-filled declarations of love, the treachery, the lies, the betrayal, the intrigue, the high seas tropical adventure, the sharks in and out the water.. and their beautiful selfless love captured my heart, pulled at my heartstrings and didn't let me go til the very last line in this wonderful saga had finally been delivered. Told from both POV's by two talented narrators who brought this remarkable unforgettable listen, its various characters, its imagery and its intense rollercoaster feels to life so that I could picture each scene with ease.

Worth a credit? Yes, this thrilling book delivered so much more than I ever expected.. it was exhilarating, shockingly good and awesome too. Well done Ms. Fiore.. and thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing Kace and Willow's love story. And, if I only had one book to take on a desert island, this is definitely one that would make it to my shortlist of five.

This book has everything!

This is my first book by L.A. Fiord. I originally got the book because Tracy Marks is one of my favorite narrators. Since I love pirates and treasure hunts I had expected to enjoy the book. I wasn't prepared to be completely blown away. First, Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock together are absolutely amazing! I'll get to the story in a minute but the narration was amazing! Tracy Marks was an amazing Willow who is a r mantid at heart even though she hasn't been let down at every turn by her parents. Aaron as Case/Noah was just outstanding! And that opening prologue Aaron did had me pulling over to the side of the road to listen. I was lucky enough to listen to this on a very long flight. I was so captivated I don't think I would have been capable of not listening.
Now for the story, I was blown away! Everything I love all wrapped up one book. Intrigue, romance, suspense, plot twist, treasure hunts, a gorgeous pirate and characters that grab you right from the start. This my have been my first book by L.A. Fiore but I will be looking at all the other books as well. The writing is too good to not have other gems out there. Great book brought to life by two amazing narrators makes this book a perfect 5. Wish I could rate it higher

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I loved how original this book was! Pirates!!! No not eye patch and hook wearing pirates but hot men who take what they want kind of pirates. I loves the history and treasure story in this book, it is romantic and tragic. I really did enjoy the story line, the mystery, the "romance" and of course the sex! The story has a great ending that wraps everything up but that epilogue.... wow loved that so much!

Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock's narration was fantastic but that was no surprise!! Both of them were perfectly cast in this audiobook!

Don't pass this up, Grab it and hold ON!

I absolutely loved this book as I have everyone of LA Fiore's books. I am an Audible listener and have been for years, and I own every audible book but one and am adding it next! Listening to each book I find, I'm dreading it coming to an end. Elusive was a breath taking love story with mystery, drama and betrayal but will captivate you from start to end. If I could give it more than 5 stars ✨ I totally would.

Awesome!!!! Action, Adventure and Romance

I loved this book!!! It is full of action, adventure and romance. Pirate romances have always been a favorite of mine, and this one is a modern twist and is outstanding. The narrators, Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock were perfect! This book is a standalone listen and part of a series. I hope the next one continues the adventures. There were so many endearing characters ( and a few despicable ones) in this book along with some unexpected twists and even humor. The author wrote some great imagery and both narrators put so much emotion into their characters. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I received this book as a gift and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely be buying more books by the author and narrators.

5 "LOVED THIS BOOK" STARS

I loved this journey L. A. Fiore took us on of Kace and Willow. This book is sexy, exciting, thrilling and I could not stop listening to it. Who knew pirates could be oh soooo sexy. Kate and Willow are so hot together. Both Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock did an excellent job narrating this story. This duo was great bringing the characters alive. Can't wait to hear more from this series.

Elusive

This is a story of adventure, pirates, treachery, treasure hunting, and love. Willow has a seriously complicated life. Parents that are absent and really don't care, but a loving and amazing grandfather. As she sets out on her first adventure she meets Case. He is the boy you have been warned about, but cant stay away from. He is honest with her though and tells her he is a pirate. But a few days and he's gone. Until years later. And then the real adventure starts. The book is fast paced and the mystery/treasure hunt is exciting. The narration is wonderful and the prologue is amazing!

Modern Day Pirates For The Win!

Would you consider the audio edition of Elusive to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version, but I loved the audio!

What other book might you compare Elusive to and why?

One of the reasons I loved Elusive so much is that the storyline is unlike any other I've read/listened. Noah was the perfect mix of mysterious, bad-boy, sensual and sensitive.

Which character – as performed by Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock – was your favorite?

Willow and Kace/Noah were my favorites. The both had very different upbringings but both of their lives were so interesting! I would love to be friends with them in real life, ha!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The novel made me feel nostalgic and wistful.
