Publisher's summary

When your moment comes, what will you make of it?

At the age of five, Melanie Armstrong watched her fragile world melt when both her parents were dragged away as part of The Peter Pan Project. Apollo, the leader of the area formerly known as the United States, separated siblings and destroyed families to create a world where "family" has a different kind of meaning. He also created a place called Paradise for a select group of young men and women when they reach the age of 18.

But Mel receives a letter warning her that Paradise isn't what it seems from her long lost brother. And when she's selected, her moment arrives. She must make the most of it or suffer a fate worse than death.

A fast paced read.

Where does Elusion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I think it ranks somewhere in the middle. It's a fast paced and enjoyable read.

What did you like best about this story?

The action! It was pretty much non stop.

What does Andrea Emmes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She really brings the story and Melanie alive. Her voice is so easy to listen to and she brings you into the story.

Any additional comments?

Elusion was quite a surprise. I hadn't heard of it before but when I read the blurb I was sufficiently intrigued.
When Melanie was young, her life was changed forever. Her parents were savagely taken away and her mother was shot in front of her. All Melanie has known is the life she leads with Apollo as the leader. Apollo promises that when you are of age you get a chance to go and live in a place called Paradise. It's all everyone strives for. Paradise is supposed to be, well, Paradise but Melanie knows differently. She got a letter from her brother to say that it isn't all it's cracked up to be and Melanie has to everything she has to NOT to be chosen. Yet despite her trying to keep a low profile, she ends up being chosen to go. Now her only option is to try to escape and get to the badlands.
I really liked Melanie. She is such a strong, no nonsense girl and isnt afraid to do what's needed. She has a tough time but knows that she has no choice but to keep going.
The plot was really fast paced and action packed. We have everything from genetically altered wolves to cannibals that Melanie has to face!! It was thoroughly enjoyable and the audio even more!! I can't wait to read more in this series and would recommend the audio to everyone.

Elusion

The world was turned upside down by 'the Peter Pan project' where parents were taken away from their children and the kids raised in barracks.A social experiment gone wrong.I wasn't that impressed. It reminded me too much of other dystopian YA books out there.Andrea Emmes is a fine narrator.“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”
