Publisher's summary

In a shocking turn of events for the Bennet family, their previously tranquil life is thrown into a state of glorious confusion. They discover a loophole in the entailment that could save Longbourn, their beloved home, from falling into the clutches of their odious cousin, Mr. Collins. The only hitch in this perfect plan? One of the Bennet sisters must wed a man of substantial fortune.

Seizing the moment, Mrs. Bennet sets her sights on the dashing, yet haughty Mr. Darcy as a perfect match for her quick-witted daughter, Elizabeth - despite the pair's notorious distaste for each other. But when circumstances demand a hasty betrothal, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy find themselves thrust into an alliance unlike any they had ever imagined.

As if navigating around the societal norms and proprieties of Regency-era England weren't enough, the tenacious Mr. Collins proclaims his own matrimonial designs - presenting a threat to the Bennet's future. Now, it's up to Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy to beat the clock and secure their family estate before it's too late. In a world ruled by strict decorum and suppressed sentiments, will they find room for love?

Elizabeth's Rush to the Altar is a P and P variation romantic comedy of over 50,000 words featuring Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet accidentally compromised leading to a forced marriage, a highly determined matchmaking Mrs. Bennet and an odious Mr. Collins.

This is a Jane Austen fan fiction (JAFF) or Jane Austen variation of the Pride and Prejudice book.

Great Jaff

This was a re-read for me. It is a great story. Compromised and forced to marry. And also a possibility to remove mr Collins as heir. Great Jaff

Good story falls flat due to voice

This story had a good premise and a believable plot, although I did wish Darcy would have proclaimed himself earlier, but unemotional reading by Virtual Voice took almost ruined it.

I’m getting used to Virtual Voice, and don’t necessarily mind it when listening to a “time filler”, but I won’t waste money or credits on one.

I enjoyed this story

This is my first AL narrator book. I enjoyed the voice.
This book is about a race to the alter to prevent Mr. Collins obtaining Longbourn. Mrs. Bennet finds a clause in the family bible that if her daughters marry before Mr. Collins and the man is of substantial means then the entail is broken.
Elizabeth accidentally finds herself compromised during the Meryton ball. Darcy accepts his fate. Mrs. Bennet is overjoyed with happiness. Mr. Collins finds out about this clause and wants Longbourn for himself. Can Elizabeth and Darcy find a happy ever after? Will they prevent Collins from his inheritance?

Disappointed

The virtual voice is snooze worthy. The story had promise of what could have been a good story. There were twists that could have added more substance. It’s like the author just wanted to be done with it.
