This Story Is Sexy

Publisher's Summary

Some people call River Andrews a modern-day Cinderella. She's a rags-to-riches story: a girl from a trailer park who becomes a Hollywood starlet. And she's about to get her happily ever after. That is, until she walks into her house three hours before her wedding to find her rock star fiancé cheating on her with her sister, while cameras film the whole sordid affair.

River picks up her skirts and runs away. She hitches a ride and finds herself in the arms of Elias Saint, who's damaged beyond repair, dirty, and demanding. But once he touches her, she can't walk away.

Good story - voice doesn't fit

The story is good and quirky. A few twists here and some misunderstandings there and voila, another great story line by Paige!
However- this book was performed in a rather unfortunate way. The reader has a great voice and reads steady and comfortable, but the voice just doesn't fit. The book has male and female view points which I can barely tell apart due to the voice being exactly the same ( not even a try to make the voice deeper) dialogues between the couple are hard to follow and - this might just be me- listening to a granny type voice reading erotic scenes out loud isn't really hot, but rather uncomfortable.

NICE COVER.... BUT SUCH A SHAME ABOUT THE LISTEN

IMO, this story suffered from two major flaws.... the narration and the constant " he said, she said, blah blah said" and then the various annoying words instead of 'said' like asked, replied, I answered.... well you get the drift. I'm sure it would have made for a much better written experience.

River and Elias both had their demons but that didn't stop the sexual chemistry, Alpha attitude and instant hot sex which came before all else.... including names I think. River was running away and Elias was returning to, however they both found each other despite secrets, paparazzi and bad childhoods. Until River overheard something, jumped to conclusions and ran. There was a secondary story of a small town being eaten up by developers, suspicious deaths and intrigue. Elias had brothers (the Saint brothers) who got together and have decided to dig deeper so the secondary storyline will continue.

I didn't really feel the romance between River and Elias and I thought he would have a little bit of insecurities and doubts about having sex for the first time after loosing part of his leg and having bad scars.... but nope not a one which would have made him more vulnerable and more likeable. Story jumped around a bit - like all of a sudden she's got more clothes and a fake I.D. and cards.

Worth a credit? Nope, far too many flaws for me and it sadly suffered for only being just over 6 hours.... why Authors can't spend a little more time to give us a more in-depth listen is such a shame.

Horrible narration

I loved the West Bend Saint series when I read the books. However revisiting the story through narration was extremely disappointing. Zelda Vradon has the least sexy voice I have ever heard. She would be better suited for kids books. She totally emasculated Elias. I felt like my grandmother was reading this book to me. Don't waste your money on narration, it's an excellent read!

Narrator was awful

The story could have been better... The dialog between the two main characters made them sound like teenagers, not adults dealing w some serious issues. The narrator was terrible... Mispronouncing words and didn't even try to change her voice from one character to the next. I actually had a hard time figuring out who was speaking at times. I wouldn't waste the credit

The Language

I usually don't mind foul language, but taking the Lord's name in vain bothers me. After the 4th or 5th time I heard that, I instantly stopped listening. I usually do not write a review, but the language in this book is just ridiculous.
Were the authors trying to extend the pages in their book by adding unnecessary words? Well in that case, I will extend my review. Fudge you, I want a book I can enjoy without all the gosh darn words.

Zelda Vradon narrator ruins the book

simply put, read the kindle and skip the audiobook. Good grief, she sounds old and like a kindergarten teacher reading to her students.

Good story, horrible narrator

The story was pretty good. The narrator was hard to follow. No real emotion and sometimes hard to tell which character she is portraying.

Spin off to Inferno MC series

This series is set in Westland, Co, the town that Cade aka Axe, the former Sgt of Arms of The Inferno MC, lives with his wife Judy and their kids. This Series is about a family of Brothers, from the Saint family. This family is misunderstood and disliked by most of the town’s residents.
The first brother that is focused on is Elias, a medically retired member of the EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) of the Navy. He lost the lower part of a leg and suffers with PTSD which causes anger control problem.
This book also addresses a lot of other serious issues; poverty, child neglect, cutting, prejudice to name a few. Even with all these tough subjects addressed, this book isn’t very dark or very deep. It just highlights the issues but focuses more on the theme, “Money can’t buy you happiness.” Elias is a twin to Silas, who is the Hero of the next book, in the series. You also get an update on Cade and Judy and their growing family.
In conclusion, this isn’t a life altering book that will stay with you, however, it is an entertaining listen.

Worst narration I've heard in a long time

Narrator didn't use different voices or even tone she sounded way too old for the character. I couldn't even finish listening going to finish it by reading it myself. Find a new narrator Sabrina!!!
