Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald nació en Saint Paul, Minnesota, el 24 de septiembre de 1896.

Aunque Zelda se deslizaba hacia la locura (estuvo internada periódicamente desde 1930 hasta su muerte en 1948) y él se hundía en el alcoholismo, continuó escribiendo para las revistas.
