Empathy can be described as being sensitive to or conscious of and also carefully analyzing the experience, thoughts, and feelings of someone else, whether this person is having this experience presently or was affected by it some time ago.
This is essentially using compassion in communication with other individuals. The effective leader, employee, or companion should be aware that there are times when obstacles such as judgment, discrimination, and bias will thwart the development of the emphatic process. If this should happen, the issue should be addressed to allow the process to continue to flow.
