Publisher's Summary

Something lurks beneath the surface...

Brodie McFadden is supposed to be on vacation, getting some sunshine and deciding if he wants to join his brothers in the Krewe of Hunters, a special paranormal investigation unit of the FBI. But a diving excursion with an old navy buddy to a historic shipwreck uncovers a crime scene - and the corpse is new.

Museum curator Dakota “Kody” McCoy just wants her Key West culture festival to succeed. She’s always had a deep connection to her home, including being regularly haunted by some of the resident ghosts. Then, in the middle of a performance, a beloved local musician drops dead. It seems accidental, but Kody isn’t so sure.

Brodie thinks the recent deaths are linked, and he needs help from Kody. Something about her festival is dangerous. And the threat is creeping ever closer. Has she uncovered a treasure from the past that someone will kill for?

Great performance, predictable conclusion

Pros: Luke Daniels once again delivered an outstanding performance. His young, female, and male characters sounded unique. I didn't get the sense I was listening to one guy, it sounded like Heather hired 5 people to perform the voice. Parts of the story I loved but it is the typical woman falls in love with tall dark handsome man who just happens to be on vacation and single. Cons: The story is about money with history and music angles that didn't pan out. When it was revealed how the 2nd victim died the killer became obivious. The partner in crime I didn't expect, I figured it would be one of the main suspects or the guy spending the most time at the victim's residents. Unfortunately it played out how I expected when the primary killer became obivious getting some SIMP to follow with the promise of love and money. There were other issues I had with the story. The main female protagonist was initially built as strong but became the damsel in distress. The PI seem too damn lucky in my opinion. The ghosts seemed useless offering nothing but a means to connect characters while being more interesting than the main characters.

Who did it????

Oh, man! When I first started listening to Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunters, most of the time I would have a general idea of who the culprit was. This one totally surprised me! I had my guesses, but wasn't even close! What a fabulous story! Luke Daniels does such a great job with the narration. I love how he can make his voices subtlety different enough you can tell when the speaker changes. Can't wait to listen to the next book!

Entertaining and fun

I loved the whole story will be looking forward to the next . There wasn’t a dull moment at all. Since I live in Miami, Florida I loved that it took place on the keys . So listening to the locations made me feel like I was there. Recommend this book to anyone. You really can pick from from here and go back to the first book of the series.

Echoes of Evil-Krewe of Hunters Book 26

Heather Graham has returned to the Florida Keys and the interesting history of that area. A newly found wreck of an old slaver ship becomes the grave of a recently dead visitor to the area. A second murder follows quickly on the heels of the gruesome discovery. ... And then a third.. What links them? This is an enjoyable story with murder and romance taking the story forward.
