Torture to listen to.

I was looking forward to this series. I love the mail order bride story line and the timeline. But this was so hard to listen to. The narrators were not well done. Voices like children when they tried to do a lady and I don't even know where to begin with the accents. Story we so predictable and corny. Couldn't make it to the end. I listen to them in the car with my husband and he paid me to stop this one.

Story okay

The story was okay. However, the narration was not. The characters needed a better representation.

Loved These Stories

I was given this set of books in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobook boom. I love mail order brides books and this set delivered. I love that the sheriff took the plunge first to let the citizens know it was ok. The doctor's story was even better. I am not sure about the role the two villains played in each of these stories. Shadow's role left a lot to be desired. He was not responsible for the way his father treated him but after he was grown he became responsible for his actions. I know some stories lend themselves to having villains included just not so much with these.

Great!

I really enjoyed each of these stories! I was on pins and needles wondering what was going to happen. The narrators were fantastic! The characters came to life with their unique abilities.

A lovely boxset

I really enjoyed the box set, it is full of humor, danger, a little action, and sweet romance. There are secrets that come out a little at a time and a mystery that you will have the answers to by the end of the box set. Breaks my heart that some of the towns people are racist but that is the way of the world that started way back with the Indians. I enjoyed watching them learn, see how they handle issues and how they overcome broken hearts, killing and hunting down the bad guy. Most of the books have many different stories going on and it was nice to watch how the author blended them together. These are standalone books but together they really bring alive the little town. Some people I liked and other not so much but my the end you might just change your mind. Nothing is as it seems but at the same time it is. There is a reason for most things and the reason behind the biggest secret is shocking, painful and will break your heart.

Erick Burr I didn't care for his narration at all, some of his character voice are strange and they do not fit the character. The only one I really like was the bounty hunts. He needs to pause more it is read to fast. Long pauses in places and no pause in other, I didn't care for his female voices at all, and his emotions were off.

Lawrence D. Yaklin did a much better job, some of his character voices are good and others I didn't care for. He does give emotion but sometimes it is a little off, By the 3rd book he had improved. There are no background noise, no repeating of words and no volume changes. It took me a little bit to get use to his narration but once I did I enjoyed it.

All in all I enjoyed this box set, starting the next one in this series. I am hooked to find out what happens to these characters.

Quirky Western Characters Save Town with Mail Orde

Series plots are delightfully unpredictable, in this series that moves on from Bridey's earlier 23 book Montana Brides series. The characters of Echo Canyon want to save their town with mail order brides, without giving up any of their lovable quirky, diverse uniqueness.

Book 1 Mountain Rescue: This book begins a series of at least 11 books, and introduces the solidly American Western characters, but with uniquely diverse and quirky traits, as we learn the origin of Sherriff Evan and his new fiercely independent mail order fiancé and the story of a town seeking to survive by bringing in brides. (Josie Bainbridge and Sheriff Evan Taft)

Book 2 Mountain Bargain: Having heard of the Montana Town saved by mail order brides (Bridey's earlier Montana Mail Order Brides series) the men of Echo Canyon, Montana continue to build a future, one mail order wedding at a time, and thus time through the romance of a brash female Eastern doctor and the town's Chinese veterinary. (Dr. Erin Avery and Dr. Winslow Wu)

Book 3 Montana Adventure: Billy and Nina meet unexpectedly while returning to Echo Canyon. While on their adventure, they fall in love and wind up getting married. Will their love keep burning bright or will it go up in an inferno and die?

Enjoyable and entertaining

I quite enjoyed listening to the ends and outs, as the characters in these three books joined together to create lasting friendships and families. The small town in Echo Canyon is getting bigger and bigger, as more and more women come to town to make a life with the men that live there.

I recommend this box set. The performance of the narrators was good.

Delightful!

Linda Bridey does it again with this new series set in Echo Canyon and the lives and loves of those who come and go. I laughed out loud and felt pangs to the heart. The narrator of book one really was a little off with some of the voices but it improved with book 2. As always thankful for the free audible and enjoyed every one!
