"The real deal "

This is a superb book for the veg-curious, new vegans, and old-timers like me who want fabulous food without a lot of fuss and bother. If you're someone who's not comfortable in the kitchen, this is a walk-thru with one of the most established vegan cooks and recipe creators out there -- and there was a time when she wasn't comfortable in a kitchen either. Please note that some unscrupulous person has stolen her title and most of her cover for a rip-off book. Do not fall for this. You want THIS BOOK, Vegan Meal Prep, by the author -- the real deal in more ways than one.

Deliciously Pragmatic

Vegan Meal Prep fits a much-needed niche in the vegan cookbook genre. JL Fields is a master of umami and good simple flavor, and she organizes this cookbook for you to follow her prepared meal plans (listed at the beginning of the cookbook) or just cook as you wish (the recipes are together by type, not by food plan, but each recipe has the meal plan # on its margin). All the recipes I've tried have been delicious, thus far, and simple to prepare. The book is organized with a number of prep week options, recipes divided by category, and both a general index and an allergy-oriented checklist of recipes. If one is gluten-free or soy-free, etc., one can simply look at the chart to see which recipes will fit one's meal plan. Every recipes includes instructions on storage, with freezer and refrigerator instructions. Many options for easy food prep to keep you eating vegan!

Helpful for different types of home cooks

This cookbook is perfect for people new to vegan/plant-based cooking because it helps them visualize what their meals will be like whether they meal-prep or not. Moreover, the recipes are interesting and delicious regardless of how long you’ve been vegan. The appeal of meal-prep, to me, has both to do with finances and making a vegan lifestyle not be a hassle, or composed of “sad desk lunch” type bad choices. No one wants to eat a work lunch of chips out a vending machine because it was the only vegan and affordable option. Colorful, Concise, Intuitive and Useful!

I was fortunate enough to receive an electronic version of this cookbook. I'm thrilled to say that it's easily one of the best cookbooks I've ever seen and used. The layout is pleasing and fun, so even newbie chefs will not be intimidated. There are tons of colorful photos of the recipes, and you can tell that the food is fresh, simple and uncomplicated. I'm one of those people who looks at the ingredient list before I set out to cook something, and if I see a mountain of ingredients and a bunch of things.

OMG This is the best book for vegans

This is the best cookbook for vegans who have reached a plateau in preparing their own meals. I’ve prepared 4 meals and I absolutely love each one. As I explain this review, I’m enjoying the Warm Salad and plan to snack on the Mint Fruit Salad. I’m happy to use my mason jars and meal prep containers for storage. I can’t wait to explore the other recipes in this gem. 5 Stars well deserved.

Perfect for new vegans

I wish I had had this book when I went vegan years ago. This is a great book for beginners. The ingredients are accessible (the 'strangest' for a new vegan might be nutritional yeast & vegan Worcestershire- the rest you can find anywhere!) and aren't complicated in preparation. The set up of the book is fabulous for meal prep. Step by step instructions (sticky notes are helpful keeping track while you're flipping through steps). And the most important part- the flavors are really good! This will be a go-to for the unforeseeable future- and I think it's really going to give me skills that I can use in putting together my own meal prep recipes and ideas. JL does it again with this one!

Easy to learn plant based meal

The author includes groups of recipes to prepare together, shopping lists and batch cooking instructions. author went further to host a cook along Facebook group with the launch of the book. If you want to eat plants and reduce the effort needed to plan, shop, and prepare meals, this book is a great resource.

Simple and nutritious recipes!

"This is an awesome cookbook for those of us that like to meal prep on the weekends to have healthy options available during the week. All of the ingredients are simple and affordable with the exception of tofu, tempeh, and TVP. I usually grocery shop at discount stores/farmers markets which don’t carry those items. I don’t think I will use this book much for dinner, but tons of great ideas for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.LOVE that nutritional content is included for every recipe. Some authors don’t include this because they say it can vary too much- it is helpful to at least have an estimate, though! Only downside is that a lot of recipes do not have pictures even though there is a ton of blank space."

Great book for beginner vegans and cooks

Whatever is the culinary equivalent of “dancing with two left feet” describes me. I’m a lawyer with an infant. This isn’t the time of life when I’m suddenly going to turn into an author. I need idiot-proof, fast, healthy and tasty recipes. I want a cookbook with recipes that use pantry staples and don’t shame me for using (obv BPA free) canned products. This hits the nail on the head.

It changed everything

Initially I borrowed this book and spent a weekend listening it. Then I went to the store and had to buy a lot of ingredients but I followed author’s recipe and prepared something really great that was Keto friendly. I have completed several of the recipes in the book and they have all been very tasty and in quantities that can make multiple meals. I can finally have good food like Bombay Sloppy Jolenes and drink some Keto lemonade and eating such good food will help make my gut disappear. 10 lbs this week. I am getting ready to supercharge the process with intermittent fasting, I am very excited and and am feeling GREAT! Full of energy. This diet has some good food. I like it. I really like author’s Keto Diet book in that it is an excellent resource for all of the science behind the diet. I had to relisten it several times to get the intent. I am now a better person just by following this diet and I look forward to reaching my goals and then getting on the maintenance Keto Diet. Great Book and I now own my own copy It changed my world. Really..

No more digestive problems for me

I tried to do this keto life style so many times and nothing stuck for me. It was too confusing and hard. Until I got this book. I love all the information. It’s a keto bible for me and I am so thankful for it. I have a lot of digestive issues bad enough that I’ve had 2 surgeries and was still having issues. 2 days following the classic keto diet in this book and I feel the best I have felt in my life. The recipes are not difficult and I don’t like to cook. Takes me about a hour a recipe. I plan my days off around cooking for the week the. I put each meal in a container for the following few days. I can not say enough good things about this book. I do my grocery shopping at Wal Mart and Publix. Whatever isn’t at those stores, I just buy on Amazon. Leaving out grains, beans and dairy isn’t a big deal to me. Everything I have made so far is so delicious. I’m shocked at how good the meals are. I’m cooking with ingredients I’ve never ever seen before and loving it.

I still can't believe how perfect this book is

Every book should be formatted like this. Aside from the quality of the content, which is outstanding, additional aspects of the book keep getting my attention. The size of it. L x W. Thickness of the pages. Font. Quality of the photos. How it's organized with info and the keto science up front, shopping lists in the middle and recipes for the last 1/3. And the reason I felt compelled to write this review is the recipe index. Just over three pages of the recipes at the back of the book in the order they are in the book represented with a thumbnail photo of the recipe and the title. Real quick way to find what you are looking for. Great job with this book author! I have lost 25 lbs since I started Keto 2 months ago. I'm 6'2" and went from 260 to 235 and I see no end in sight. My goal is 190. People ask me if Keto is hard to stick to. I tell them it's easy. Shoot for no carbs each day and you'll probably end up with the 20 to 30 you need. The proteins take care of themselves each day if you have a meat/egg/cheese, .etc. The fats are the fun part and with an app like my fitness pal it's easy to see if you are running low and easily consume more fats. My biggest advice is "Track Your Calories". The high fat foods can quickly add up your calories for the day. I feel less bloated now and at the end of day I feel full and have no cravings. My blood pressure was up to 165/105. Yesterday it was 123/74. Every bit of the keto diet has been worth it.

GREAT Resource book

I have been doing keto for a year know. I've listen a ton of information about keto and listen to keto poscaat as well. This is book is well explained and is such a great resource book! the author explains the ketogenic way of eating very well, provides 3 different paths to take to be successful and it has a ton of recipes. It's like getting 2 books in one....an informational book and a cook book! I initially bought the kindle version but loved it so much that I also bought the printed version! This is excellent for beginners as well as experiences ketogenic dieters!

Extraordinary instructive book

A complete and well ordered guide with simple and demonstrated strategy which extremely simple to execute. This book will manage you about that. An extraordinary instructive book. Learning content gives. In the wake of perusing this book, I lost 1 or 2 lbs for every week without working out. Splendid book! All-In-One Resource

This is a science book, nutrition book, and cook book all in one; an excellent resource for your keto journey. This book has not only the "why" but also the "how" for every single aspect of your diet and therefore this is the only book you need to get started and forge ahead with confidence. The recipes are easy to follow and prepare generally within half an hour. The full color pictures with each recipe are helpful; in fact, the entire book has great presentation/color/graphics. She offers substitutions for many items needed in the recipes and how to's for making your own basics like nut/seed milks. I've never been much of a cook, but I'm cooking with ease now and enjoying it thanks to this book. Oh! This book is also friendly for those on a special diet (Egg-Free / Low FODMAP / Vegan / Nut-Free / Nightshade-Free, etc.). In fact, her sample meal plans (there are 5 to choose from) are based on no-dairy, gluten-free, no-wheat. So far, I haven't even missed those items because the recipes are so good. Even though I do not need a special menu, she advocates trying it the way she has it planned for a while just to give your body a chance to heal itself. Then, she encourages you to customize your diet so that you can build a sustainable plan that fits your unique needs.

Money Well Spent

This book was exactly what I needed as a resource to get my ketogenic lifestyle started. I watched numerous videos on YouTube and read different articles on keto but nothing was more informative than this book. I have highlighted some of the main points for me and put tabs on pages of recipes that I'm very excited to try. I tried to do this diet in the middle of listening this book, and realize that it's best to finish the book and then start doing the diet. I am very excited to start next week following certain days of her meal plan and hoping to have success. Thank you for being real and sharing your own personal experiences so that I can relate. I am hoping this diet works out for me, and if it doesn't I'm still happy that I purchased this book and got all this great information. I especially love that this book covers non dairy and grain free options and looks into the importance of some of the seeds and nuts that could possibly be causing irritation in one's tummy. I feel like I have a lot of these problems but because of the way that society says to eat I just keep eating them and not listening to my body. If I have learned nothing else it's to listen to my body and have some good me time. Thank you author I look forward to checking out your podcast. Awesome book to guide my husband and I on our ...

Awesome book to guide my husband and I on our Keto adventure. I wanted this to be a healthy journey and a lot of the things that I was listening was encouraging not so healthy fats. Being a nurse, I certainly knew better than to eat hotdogs and burgers all day. This book breaks it down so that you can make clean and easy choices! Great for vegans too!

I am vegan and have tried to go keto in the past and failed due to lack of information. Before purchasing I messaged the author and asked if there were vegan recipes other than "dessert or snack type" foods and she told me that 42% of the recipes were either vegan or had an option to be made vegan. I LOVE this book! Though it does not include a meal plan for vegans specifically, the amount of information included in the book allowed me to create my own vegan keto meal plan. It also has a lot of helpful advice on how to deal with issues that may arise as your body transitions from sugar burning to fat burning. This book is so easy to listen that it makes it possible for anyone to be keto!
