Unrealistic. Couldn’t even finish. But the worst part was the reader. I can’t say “narrator,” as that would imply a person performing this story with the pace, pitch, pausing, and power of a professional presenter. You won’t find that here. It is read, to be sure, but not performed. It was plastic, masquerading as flesh and blood. The story was not good enough to carry the burden of the unrealistic reading. Sorry AI, but you flunked “elocution.” Please leave the presentation to professional performers.

I have listened to several audio books read by AI and have come to the rapid conclusion that I can’t stand it. From pauses, emphasis on words, a pause etc are all lost on AI. This means that everything is done wrong and at the wrong time.
This particular story I found indescribably boring so not only had that to deal with but the appalling narration too.
