So Heartbreaking

This series absolutely has my heart! I just cannot get enough of it! Vhalla and Aldrik are such magnetic forces that are drawn towards each other but pulled away but their duties. I think the emperor is truly evil and I love to wish all manner of evil deaths upon him. I loved this narrator who has such a universal voice! Her accents are memorable and really bring these characters to life while giving tnem all their own unique voice! So impressive!!!

Read 12/08/19

Started 09/25/19 finished 12/08/19

Too much drama at the end. Not sure if I’ll read the next book.

Bad audio

I’m so confused. I’ve had audible for many years and I’ve never had an issue with the audio. It’s always been great. I didn’t even think audio problems were a thing. But this one has many.

There were a couple here and there in the beginning to middle, which I didn’t think much of. But last fourth was terrible. Skips and random slow points and silence in the middle of a sentence. I really don’t think it was the narrator. I’ve said before that she’s great at voices, but the narration is so dull. But I have really been enjoying the story, so it was fine. Disappointing, but still able to listen. But during several very important parts it would slow down and then speed up, obviously not in line with the writing. It was increasingly distracting. I couldn’t stand it anymore.

It’s especially frustrating because I bought the next book in the series. This was the 3rd, so I had no doubt I’d want to read the 4th. But as I couldn’t finish the book, I have to return both. If audible will let me. It is clearly their fault. I’m not able to read novels with my eyes, and I’m a big fan of series. So to just have to stop midway through the series is very disappointing. I don’t know what happened with these files, but they should be fixed. If that is even possible.

Guuuuuuurl, yass!

I love a slow burn and that’s what these books are. Slow methodical and then ka’blam! Get the next book.

Audio - technical glitches - good book though!

There are weirdly long pauses between sentences at one point in the book. Is that a literary thing? Or is the audio messed up? It sounds like the pause at the end of a chapter between every sentence. SPOILERS AHEAD****************************************
I’m at the part of the book where she takes the crystal axe. That’s when I noticed the glitch.

Good

I enjoyed the story. The narrator spoke so quickly that I chose to listen to this at 85% speed which made up for the rushed speaking.
