Publisher's summary

"She went home with someone else that night?" Hearing the disbelief from my best friend's mouth makes the events of my failed date sting that much more. I would like to make it known, I have a lot more swagger than what it seems. I don't normally ask a girl out, have her fail to recognize it's a date, and then give me a high five - as if I'm her wingman - and take off with someone else. No. Normally I'm the one taking the girl home, but with Stella, it's been one failed attempt after another and frankly, I'm done trying.

But thanks to my best friend getting married in Hawaii right before the school year starts, I'm stuck on a tropical island, watching Stella parade around in what she claims is a bathing suit. Unfortunately, that's not the worst of it - just the tip of the iceberg. Because what I think is going to be a relaxing vacation, avoiding the one girl I can't seem to make it work with, has turned into a spectacle of being recruited as Stella's doting fake fiancé so she can save face with an old "friend" from high school. Now, I'm navigating through purgatory while trying not to get turned on by the way she holds my hand or kisses my jaw. It's all fake, that's what I keep telling myself - even though it feels entirely too real.

Loved!!

Narration was on point. The characters came alive for me and I love them together! The story was captivating and had me laughing my butt at on more than one occasion! I’m hoping the series is continued with Coras story.. fingers crossed

More Antics at Forest Heights High

One word - eels!
Make that two - glue (ha ha)
Oh what the heck, who am I kidding. So many words. It’s Meghan Quinn for crying out loud. Funny is her middle name. Where does she come up with these hilarious storylines, she is the absolute queen of rom com.
That said, there are some really emotional moments in this story too, Brock ‘Romeo’ Romero and Stella Garcia really need to learn how to communicate, so many misunderstandings, and for two people with so much in common, and so much attraction and chemistry, you would think navigating a friendship/relationship would come more naturally. Those pesky insecurities getting in the way of true love. This friends to lovers, fake engagement rom com takes us back to Forest Heights High School where this wonderful group of friends taking a trip to Hawaii to celebrate Arlo and Greer’s nuptials. This story is an interconnecting standalone so you’ll quite possibly come across some of your other favourite characters in and amongst. Another wonderful read. I completely adored Stella, she was narrated perfectly by Erin Mallon. As much as I love Sebastian York, who did in fact do a standup job, I’m not 100% sure he was the best choice for Romeo.

Stella is so whiny

I loved turners and Grier’s story. It was funny and awesome and a great story. But Stella is just such a whiny baby the whole book. First she uses everyone because she wants to be be better than everyone. And then when she realizes she uses everyone she continues to use Romeo but never commits and sabotages their relationship on purpose every chance she gets. I was excited for Stella story but she truely is a whiny baby in an adult body. I barely made it through. I hope Pikes and Cora story is better. I bet even Kiekos story would be better.

Really enjoyed this one!

This was a different sort of romance and I laughed out loud so many times! Narration performance really made this book worth while! The two week, destination wedding turned fake relationship was fantastic. I needed the distraction and the laughs.

12 hours of laughs and love

This is my first book from this series but I will be going to get the others on pay day.
Standalone with no cliffhangers.
I laughed so much, the friendships and banter was perfect.
Romeo is half in love with Stella before he even asks her out, when the date is over before it starts the fight begins, but then he's her fiance?
Stella is very attracted to Romeo, but he's a player and she wants more, plus he's way above her league. Right?
She just needs him to pretend to be together for 2 weeks while in Hawaii, what could go wrong?
Such a fun romance, your going to love it.
Sebastian and Erin did a great job as they always do.
I was given a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Good, but not my fave MQ book

I LOVE Meghan Quinn’s books, and while I enjoyed this one it wasn’t my favorite.
I really liked the recurring characters and the guest appearances from some of the Brentwood boys! The MQ universe is one of the best parts of her books.

I think I may be one of the few people who doesn’t love Erin Mallons narration… so that kind of made this book less enjoyable. It’s not bad per se, I just don’t like the fast pace and weird upswing.

It had the classic MQ spice level, which I enjoyed. I have a hard time with a “ 🌶️ scale” because I don’t think I’ve read enough romance with spice to give a good number…. But for comparison it’s more descriptive than the few Lauren Blakey books I’ve read (imo).
I did like that this love story was based on a friendship. Excited to listen to the next one in the series! :)

Loved This Story!!

Meghan Quinn never disappoints! This cute, sexy, laugh out loud romcom had me hooked from the start. It had a two of my favorite tropes, the friends to enemies to lovers, fake relationship, a bit angsty with a dash of parent trapping shenanigans thrown in to make the story entertaining. I loved Brock and Stella. They were perfect together. I enjoyed how this time the guy was the one waiting on the girl to realize they were always meant to be. It was refreshing to read and see how that affected their relationship and eventually to finding their happily ever after. I also enjoyed the “parent trapping” Stella did on her dad and his new fiancé. Those were some of the funniest scenes because Brock ended up getting the brunt of it. Let’s not forget the amazing narration by Sebastian York and Erin Mallon. They were the perfect pair to bring Brock and Stella to life. These two are a few of my favorite narrators I enjoy listening to and will recommend to others to add to their TBL. IG you haven’t listened to a Meghan Quinn book, give it a try especially if York and Mallon are telling the story!

A delightful story of finding each other

Loved being able to both read and list to this story. Book two in the series it was fun to catch up with these characters again after reading See Me After Class.

I both loved and was frustrated with this pair particularly how oblivious they were to the feelings they have for each other. It was a fun escape being able to experience their adventures through the pages. The antics that Stella got up to in particular were hilarious. A delightful story and it was great reading about them finally being able to move past their differences and find each other.

A winner for sure!

Earn Your Extra Credit is a winner in my book!
Great writing with witty banter, characters that you will love and and a fun, entertaining storyline filled with crazy situations will keep a smile on your face and the pages turning.
Stella and Brock (Romeo) have been friends but when feelings beyond friendship muddied the waters they both have to find a way to navigate these new dynamics and keep their hearts intact.
I had the added bonus of listening to the audio version of this story and the narrators did an amazing job of giving voices to the characters that simply took this book up another notch and definitely added to my enjoyment of this story.
