Loads of Fun!
Max’s special day is here! It’s Halloween and he is ready to make the most of it. Donning his Mr. Amazing costume, he struts off to Middle School ready to take the world by storm. Max and his best friend (also dressed as Mr. Amazing but a ‘mirror version’) deal with the bullies and smart-aleks who keep tugging their capes and making fun of them. Making it through the day is only made better by the ultimate activity – trick or treating … until his parents spring the news on him!
Alisdair Baird, the author, captures the feelings and experiences of each kid during this special day and relays it in a smooth, accurate manner that allows the listener to flashback to those times. Although the audiobook is very short, it is a delight to hear!
The narrator, Andrew James Roberts, once again dons Max and gives an excellent performance. Roberts takes each character and brings them to life through his talented voice and proper inflections of emotion.
Baird tells the story of Max and Sam in a smooth, fluent manner rich with details and imagery. Although the book is targeted at young adults, they are a pleasure to hear for listeners of all ages.
There were no issues with the production or quality of this audiobook.
