Eagle Eyes are watching...all the time...
Well, I was actually surprised by this series. Eagle Eyes was so much better than the previous Julie C. Gilbert series that I listened to. Maybe the suspense was better or maybe it was just the high tech that, though disturbingly invasive, reminded me of a modern day version of the old 1980s Knight Rider, but I truly enjoyed this one! I was also a big fan of the fact that the suspense and technology are front and center, no romance.
Violence In Vegas:
This was a really great start to the three book series. I found the scenes in the tunnels under Las Vegas to be particularly interesting. This story also brings awareness to a serious but little written about problem, human trafficking right here in the USA.
Rescue In Reno:
Megan's friends just can't seem to catch a good break in this second book in the series! This book also shows even more of the crazy and invasive stuff that Eagle Eyes can do, including turning up the heat in a room and keeping the user asleep while it updates.
Danger In Dallas:
What could go wrong when you have an assassin as a friend? Well, if you are Megan Luchek, pretty much everything. This final book in the series ramps up the danger even as it answers many questions about Eagle Eyes and the Shadow Council, and some of the answers are rather surprising.
Audiobook:
I listened to the 3-in-1 audiobook so I really got to enjoy these stories back-to-back without waiting for a new release. The narrator is a new one to me but she did a great job capturing my attention and immersing me in the story. The sound quality was good and nothing marred the listening experience. If you enjoy clean read suspense with lots of fancy technology I would definitely recommend the Eagle Eyes series from Julie C. Gilbert.
(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)

An interesting saga
#1 Violence in Vagas
Terror is created, with no reasonable expectation of compassion, for the men behind this venture are out to test a theory, and will allow nothing to stand in their way.
Until, their way becomes blocked by a young woman, who want back down on her ethical standards, and is willing to ut her life on line, to save others.
Off course, there is always the one one that goes rogue, trying to outsmart his handlers, and to save his own neck, thus the whole situation just got a lot more complicated.
#2 Rescue in Reno
Okay, this episode uses the technology of Eagle Eyes, from the previous book.
Yes, all perhaps would be feasible, but time frames and technology incompatibility would be another factor. Plus, the expense involved in equipping safe houses with modern, smart technology, seems unlikely for those that keep a wary eye on the bottom line of an expense sheet.
This being said, the actual concept is an interesting one, but wearing contact lenses for days on end, again seems far fetched.
An intriguing yarn!
#3 Danger in Dallas
Back in the world of espionage, we have a powerful man, with a grudge, aimed firmly onto our favorite FBI agent, Megan Luchek, and her friend, Cassandra , aka "The Assassin".
As Cassandra was hard to get hold off, the direct path of acquiring agent Lucien, by kidnapping her from a restaurant, in Dallas.
From here, life becomes very complicated for all concerned.

Loved it
I loved these stories. I liked that there is a central subplot running through the series so each story is connected. It made me want to listen straight away to the next book. The concept of the technology behind 'Eagle Eyes' is a good twist to the usual run of the mill FBI mysteries out there.
The stories are suspense filled and easy listening.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reading audio copy.
