Fake reviews

It seems like all the five star reviews were added on 10-6-19. This is book was poorly narrated and seemed to be written in a different language and was translated to English.

74 Reviews on October 6th, 2019. Impressive.

EMDR really helped me clear up several issues in my life. I was hoping that the book had some insight into how to make it work outside of a therapist's office. It did not.

First... this was read by a text-to-speach program. Zero inflection. The words were pronounced properly but ALL grammatical errors and/or anomalies were read without even an attempt at correcting them for the author.

For a self-help book, it wastes a lot of time on what clinicians should consider in their clients, and even their office space. Maybe that makes sense for setting up your DIY environment but I'm not seeing clients. If I did, I wouldn't learn how to from a 3 hour audiobook.

I might be about 100 titles into my Audible subscription and have never left a negative review. I have left more than a few positives. On the other hand, I've read reviews by people who've shreaded narrators and authors for producing work an order of magnitude better than this that I thought were just fine. I picked this up hoping to send it to a friend who I thought could.be helped by it, rather than 10 hours of Francine Shapiro. I thought wrong. I clearly didn't do my homework. The fact that 74 reviews were submitted in a single day without so much as a single '4' amongst them should have stood out like a sore thumb. Seriously, hire a better fake reviewer. Or if it's the author, just stop reviewing them yourself.

I was refunded my credit. Thank you Audible.

I find this audiobook insightful

I find this audiobook insightful. Not many people understand depression or other mental conditions. For people who suffer these conditions, it is hard to find ways to cope. This book really helps for people like me who are seeking help.

I found this book to be a mostly easy read.

I found this audiobook to be a mostly easy listen. Other than the occasional tangent into technical jargon, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I also really appreciated that a wide range of possible mood-lifting activities were suggested.

Very informative and helpful book audiobook

Very informative and helpful book. This book is a really helpful and useful book that also discusses the different misconceptions of cognitive-behavioral therapy along with the different types of techniques that would be used. There is a lot of secret information. It is very essential for us.

Badly written and narrated

Maybe this a translation because it’s language style is awful. The point of view shifts from ‘the patient will....’ to ‘ ‘you will....’ within one paragraph. I am a trained counsellor and I don’t believe this book is written by someone with professional understanding of this subject. Very disappointed with this purchase.

This audible was designed to discuss how EMDR(Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) could heal certain psychological stressors/traumas, "stuck ideas" if you will in people.

A therapy that gives hope.

This is a well studied and important psychological modality which appears to be little known to the lay population. This book is clear and easily to listen. It will give hope to everyone who is at a juncture in their life. EMDR will certainly help with taking the next step towards self-actualization.

Good audio book.

Beginning with this audio book I have gone on to explore variations in this type of therapy, and it is my impression that almost all types of emotionally stress can be addressed with one or more of these variations. The book is not just informative. It is also spell binding. It is a pleasure to listen something that is both informative and well written.

Welcome Home with EMDR!

This audio book contains hope for anyone who has gone through a life treatening experience, including the experience of having parent figures who were negligent or abusive. My own experience with this type of therapy is just beginning, but the results so far have been excellent. I became interested after seeing the life of a friend transformed through EMDR therapy.

The bible of EMDR for the layperson.

EMDR: The Breakthrough Therapy for Overcoming Anxiety, Stress and Trauma" describes a method for finally releasing the demons of our past. The book points out that it isn't necessarily the magnitude of the event that is important but our response to it. Most of us are familiar with the impact of post traumatic stress on war veterans but over time we tend to discount the long term effects of losing a loved one.

Very recommendable.

If you want to find out more about what EMDR is, when and in what ways it's being used, this is the book for you. It's a very honest book illustrating the true life stories of so many victims, veterans, rape and abuse victims (and much more) that went through battles they thought they could never conquer, and that were successfully treated with EMDR.

Very convincing.

This audio book provides an excellent study of the effectiveness of EMDR--eye movement desensitization and reprocessing--for prospective patients and their families, alike.
No question, the book is very well written, and, as one other reviewer noted, a page turner. As a result, we were seriously considering this method for our child. And we may well consider the idea again in the future. This book provides a great introduction to the concepts, and frequently positive results, of such treatment.

Excellent examples of healing in action.

This book was designed to discuss how EMDR(Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) could heal certain psychological stressors/traumas, "stuck ideas" if you will in people. Anxiety, being called stupid by your parents, horrific dating experiences, rape, abuse, car accidents, bad associations (you think your neighbor is the boogeyman) are all examples of problems therapists are faced with and use this wonderful technique to help their clients. Thanks author.
