A long winded overview

This book gives a great overview for the real estate investor. It tells you which type of people you need to create your real estate team and why. It also gives you a generalized view of how to build your business. It does not explain how to determine a good or bad deal, what factors are important in the market, or things specific to a real estate transaction. It's pretty much a long winded book of who to use on your team and why. If you are looking for how to invest in real estate, this isn't the book. But, use this book to complement other resources.

Meh

If you've read the E-Myth you won't get anything new from this. Same stories from Gerber. I thought I wasn't going to like Than because he sounds like a used car salesman but he wasn't bad.

Could have been better

I read the real estate rehab bible by Paul Esajian and I loved it. While I liked this book, I feel the authors were promoting a bit too much. In Paul's other book, he gave free resources and while he mentioned his company, he wasn't so blunt to advertise. Nonetheless, I got some good ideas to apply in my business plan and recommend for anyone that is planning on starting a business in real estate to listen to this book.

Michael Gerber's Voice is Horrible

What made the experience of listening to E-Myth Real Estate Investor the most enjoyable?

The content is great and made me think about new ways to run my business.

What didn’t you like about Michael E. Gerber’s performance?

Michael Gerber sounds like he smoked 10 packs a day and was gasping for breath. I had to play his parts at 2x speed to get through it - very distracting. Because of his voice, I cannot listen to another book by him. Sorry Michael, please hire a professional voice actor.

Skipping through Than Merrill's sections

Would you consider the audio edition of E-Myth Real Estate Investor to be better than the print version?

No, A few chapters were skipping. If they can fix that then absolutely!

Have you listened to any of Michael E. Gerber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I listened to E-Myth Revisited. I was very impressed with that book. This one was very similar but got into more detail into real estate investing.

Any additional comments?

Not sure if it was my device or what, but Than Merrill's chapters kept skipping without advancing the playhead. It looked like it was the file itself, not the software. Very dissappointed as I loved the content of the book.

Very helpful!

I enjoyed all the learning, very helpful!
I only dislike the spiritual philosophy that you are your own God. He should leave that subject out.

Excellent book

If you are serious about building and sustaining a successful business, this book is a must. I am not sure how some people can give negative ratings for a book that is supplying truth. At the very beginning, he specifies that this is not a book to teach you the technicalities of how to negotiate, find deals, analyze, etc. It's much deeper than that. It's about your mentality and preparation in order to build a business. As for those that said his voice is annoying... lol... give me a break, for the short instances that Gerber speaks, it won't kill anyone.

Once again, excellent book!

same as I learned in e-myth book.

I had hoped for more specific application to real estate investing, the nuts and bolts kind of thing. In that way the book was disappointing... but if you've never read the original e-myth, you really need to and this book seems a good substitute for Real Estate Investors.

Pretty good

Some good stuff for sure. Although Than sounds like an annoying salesman about to make the hard sell, and Gerber sounds like he's had a stroke.

Gerber’s part is bad but young guy is good

This book is partly read by Gerber and partly by Than and Paul. Gerber’s talk is very philosophical and almost the same as E myth book. Young guys talk about real estate business which is what we need.

must read for anyone in real estate

Deep insight into the business development process. Michael Gerber at his best, much more prescriptive and detailed than the original (and Excellent) emyth
