Publisher's summary

National best-selling author Dutch debuts Dynasty, the first urban soap opera!

The Bells and Simmons are family. The Bells, a crime family in New York, have the cocaine market on lock. The Simmons, hailing from the South, reign supreme in heroin. Talks of joining forces are suddenly stalled when family patriarch Guy Simmons is gunned down. Suspicions fly. Jealousy breeds. The body count rises.

Guy Simmons has created a legacy he wants to pass on to his two sons, Kevin and Tyquan. However, his womanizing ways have spilled over and jeopardizes all he's worked for. The mothers of his sons hate each other. Like mother, like son. Guy's shooting has ignited a new brotherly beef - a beef that could have deadly repercussions, especially when you have a family where the enemy may lie within.

Recommend reading. Give it’ five ******. I really enjoy reading this. It was action from beginning to the end. Love all of the characters like guy, Gloria, Kevin, victor and the twins just to name a few. I enjoy listening to all of the different sounds. It made me listen to the book over and over again. I am telling my family to read this book in audio. Can’t wait to read them all. The sound effects made the book more alive. As a blind person I wish they more sound effects making the person aware of what is going on around them. The narrator did a fantastic job of reading this book. Keep up the good work. I am looking forward to reading and listening to more.

Music was distracting

I love sound effects but the constant music playing was annoying and was making things suspenseful when it wasn’t needed or added tones at the wrong time

Story would be much better if...

Too much noise in back ground to clearly hear narrator. Narrator speeds thur parts so fast it's hard to keep up with which charater is speaking. I enjoy Dutch, this one just had too many distractions.

I wish you could burn audiobooks!

What disappointed you about Dynasty?

I get the content of the story. I get that the author has limited 3rd party knowledge of the topic, so he uses A LOT of vernacular dialogue to cover up lack of detail. However, where is the editor on this one? You lost me in the prologue when you discussed the drugs south of the "Mason-DIXIE" line. REALLY?!! All together, its a mediocre story wrapped up in sloppy writing and poor editing.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Caujuan Akim Mayo?

The only thing that could make this story worse is a terrible narrator...enter Mayo.No emotion, very monotone and uninspired. He cashed in a favor on someone to get this gig. I could almost hear him in his bedroom, as he mispronounced words. I could not tell iff he had a speech impairment or if it was just poorly executed. Pray it was the former so I will not make any wise cracks about it. Never the less, it made it very difficult to understand and follow along. He sounds like he is unfamiliar with using a microphone. It does not sound like a natural reading. his volume and fluctuations are restrained due to being too close to the mic. this eliminates the true emotion of the story. The Cartel by Ashley Jaquavis is much better. The story does not get bogged down with general facts and the dialogue is much better.I want the last 4+ hours of my life back! (or just the credit I used to buy it on Audible)
