When a nor'easter buries the small coastal town, the police are too busy digging out the locals to investigate the murder. Fun and enjoyable

Great way to relax and recover from surgery. Main characters are developing well. Book #2 doesn't disappoint.

Great Read

This is the second book in the The Library Lover's Mystery series. It was very entertaining. I hope audible makes the rest of the books available.

A woman with brains

What made the experience of listening to Due or Die the most enjoyable?

Lindsey is a strong character, without being annoying. She uses her brain!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Definitely--I was not sure when Lindsey would wind up in the middle of things or how she would get herself out.

Have you listened to any of Allyson Ryan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first.

Any additional comments?

The perpetrator kind of came out of left field, which was both a pro and a con. I don't like to know whodunit from the first chapter, but I also don't like to go, "Wait. Who was that again?" Overall, this did not affect my desire to keep listening.

Murder, Crafts and a Pup in the Book Drop

When the husband of the new President of the Friends of the Library is murdered, there is no shortage of suspects. Crotchety old, Bill Sint, the former president, is jealous and mad that he wasn’t re-elected. The new library director, Lindsey Norris, is trying to keep the peace, although she has no say in the volunteer position. And Carrie Rushton, the new Friends President is trying to clear her own name in the murder of her husband. The Crafternoon Club which meets in the library enjoying knitting and books, are hot on the trail of the killer, along with Lindsey. This is a fun, cozy mystery, made better by the adorable puppy left in the book drop and Captain Sully who Lindsey has an eye for. Great story and excellent resolution.

Fun read

As a librarian myself, I admit I'm a little predisposed to like books with characters who are librarians. I especially like this series as there are no ghosts, crime solving, and/or talking cats! So, kudos for sticking to real people in real situations, though somewhat quirky crimes. Highly enjoyable.

So great that I bought the next book in the series

I liked the previous book in this series, Books Can Be Deceiving, but I enjoyed this one even more. My favorite character was the little puppy someone shoved through the book return drop. He immediately takes to Lindsey, the main character and head librarian, and she says she will take care of him until they can find a home for him. FAMOUS LAST WORDS! It was obvious that McKinlay knows dogs well, as she really brings this little guy to life! And he comes to play a significant part in the plot.

The human characters in this book also come to life, such as Beth, the children's librarian who is s big kid herself and dresses up to read her regular story time. There is also "the Lemon," the longest employed librarian there who has no people skills, even claiming that she'll be fomenting anarchy if she backdates the check-in date of the books put in the book slot over the days a massive storm caused the library to be closed. Another creative character is "Batty Bilson," who tries to run Lindsey off the road and then stalks her because the Friends of the Library voted out as president the man old enough to be her grandfather whom she has become obsessed with.

The plot is really clever, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've bought the next bin in the series already because of the success of the first two!

Lindsey-Let's-Not-Call-Police-In-Life/Death-Situations Strikes Again

Fun book, narrator does a good job. Would like it better if the author stopped telling how smart the protagonist is and started showing it. On the level with first in series.

Loved the cup cake series

Having a hard time staying engaged in this one. It needs more twists and turns and I doubt I will listen to any more of them.
