Music...the heart's greatest librarian.

The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia.

At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I'd always envisioned. I'd found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key.

You see, my favorite songs had a way of playing simultaneously. I was in love with one man's beats and another's lyrics. But when it came to the soundtrack of a life, how could anyone choose a favorite song? So, to erase any doubt, I ditched my first-class ticket and decided to take a drive, fixed on the rearview.

Two days.

One playlist.

And the long road home to the man who was waiting for me.

BUY THIS NOW!!!

After hearing so many amazing things about this book, I decided to finally take the plunge and give it a go. Now, the only regret I have is waiting so long to read it! I experienced every single freaking emotion possibly during this book. I was drawn in right from the prologue and spent the entire time wondering who it was that caused the trip down memory lane. The music that goes along with each chapter really help tie everything together. I am still sitting here, almost an hour after finishing the book, listening to the songs and reliving each chapter. I have always thought that music can set the tone for every experience, and this book hit that sentiment head on! I will definitely be returning to this book time and time again.

The narration was amazing. Ava Erickson has an amazing voice and did a fantastic job with all the emotions.

Drive

We have to talk about the narration first, I am a fan of Ava’s but she just brought something else to this performance I can’t explain it. But I loved it.

This story is real, and that is why it was so hard to put down. Her heart was all in and it was her head that needed to get in the picture.

For me, I am not an angst kind of girl especially if there is dramalama but I am happy to report no dramalama just the realness of life and the angst that goes with it.

This story will suck you in and not let you out till the very end and these are the books we all live for. You root for this person then your rooting for that person and in the end, you’re not sure who to root for but you're happy with the ending. That is exactly how this book chewed me up and spit me out.

A must read, really.

Exceptionally Epic!

I truly enjoyed this well written and exceptionally performed Audibly by Narrator Ava Erikson. I ❤'d the way Author, Kay Stewart, paired up each chapter with a song She felt reflect each chapter's mood. In fact I wish this Incredible Novel would come out with it's very own Soundtrack ; that'd be a first!

Intense and all consuming

WOW! That was intense! I'll start off by saying that I don't really like books that involve a love triangle so I was a little leery about this one at first. BUT, it's Kate Stewart book so it's a given that I was going to read it so, I charged in and was pleasantly surprised.

This book was absolutely perfect ! The story was engaging, the writing makes you feel as though you were part of the story instead of just reading it. It had all the feels and just the right amount of angst for me . I loved all of the characters... basically, I love everything about this book!

To take it one step further, I listened to this as an audiobook instead of just reading it. That's always a gamble because if the narrator isn't all that great, or you just don't care for that narrator , it can really ruin a story. Ava Erickson nailed it with Drive! It's sometimes difficult to get all the feels out of an audiobook but there was no problem at all with this one. She did an amazing of job portraying these characters and telling their story.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I really enjoyed this audiobook! I always like when a story takes place over years, It really helps me to immerse myself into the world the author has created. I'm not normally a fan of love triangles but this one was different for me, not so much a triangle but I can't explain that without spoilers. In the end, this story left my heart happy!

Ava Erickson was great in this audiobook but I felt that there should have been accents. I forgot that Stella was Latina until it was mentioned because of the lack of accents.

Love Triangle with a Latina Flare

I loved the soundtrack that guided through this flashback love triangle told through the eyes of Stella. A Latina with a completely unique look on life and a flare for the dramatic.

The story was difficult because you know that there will be a moment where both men will be coming into her life at the same time and she will be making a choice and you know that will be an epically painful moment, but the ending was worth the torment and the journey was worth the pain.

Ava Erickson is always perfection but I was so disappointed that there was so Mexican accent for Stella’s family that HAD to have strong accents. I really wish that the accent would have at least been attempted because even a pseudo-accent would have been better than not at all.

Sometimes you need an angsty love triangle

Well, wow! Drive has been on my TBR for quite a while and I was excited to use an Audible credit for it. The story was fantastic, and I LOVED that each chapter had a specific song referenced. (And there's a Spotify playlist to go along with the book!) I really enjoyed how the story progressed- some time jumps, some fast fowards, some pauses. Until the end, I wasn't sure how it was going to end, and actually changed my mind several times as to the ending I was hoping for. While I enjoy rom-coms, sometimes an angsty love triangle is just what's needed. Ava Erickson's narration was flawless. She captured all the emotions so well.

Not sure why there are so many 5 star reviews...

I purchased this audiobook because I love music related novels and it has so many five star reviews I thought it would be really good. While the narration was good, I thought the book was super slow and honestly? I didn't like the two main characters or the main character's sister (I found her super annoying), so it was hard to feel really invested in the book. I was intrigued by the concept of the book because music really does bring up so many feelings and memories for me, so I kept listening, but most of the time I just really wanted to get to the end to find out which guy she chose and be done with it. At times I started to think it was getting a little better, but for me I just felt like it dragged on and on quite a bit and the story was a little unbelievable to me from certain aspects, so I can't really recommend this one unless you love a long, dragged out drama type of story. I enjoyed the music facts and references, but that was about it for me.

Loved It!!!!!!!

WOW!! That is all I can say. I picked up this book off of Audible $2.17 as a recommendation and the eBook on kindle unlimited . So glad I did. Kate Stewart did not disappoint in this book about music, love, angst, and heartache. I loved it and I was completely consumed.

I am not a fan of love triangles but this one blew me away.
Like Stella I fell for both Reid and Nate. Both solid guys in their own right.

I felt her emotions and pain while listening to Ava Erickson tell their story. She made me feel like I was right there with them along for the ride. Linking the music in the eBook was a extra nice touch.

This story had me guessing to the very end. Who was Stella driving home too?

I would definitely recommend this book to my friends.
This one of the top 5 books I have read this year and is one of my favorite.

Favorite Quote:
If anyone tells you a song is important to them,
you should turn it up loud, close your eyes and really listen.
Because at the end, you will know that person so much better. - Unknown
