"The power of the Dragonsword was building again, hammering its way down her arm and into her brain. Nerves were quickening, muscles snapping to attention...

"She picked up her sword, and the stars glittered along its keen blade and on the double-dragon hilt. Of Celtic design, so magical that it could kill and heal both, it did not make sense. Nothing made any sense. But she was determined that explanations would be hers. She would demand knowledge, and whatever the consequences, she would accept it..."

THE DRAGON’S CALL had come again. And Solomon Braithwaite, an aging UCLA professor specializing in Arthurian Britain, was ready to return with the Dragon to a land that could not be found on any map, the kingdom of Gryylth. Here the scholar would be transformed into a warrior in the prime of his life – Dythragor Dragonmaster, Guardian of Gryylth. But this time, Solomon would not go alone. For the Dragon had called for Solomon’s assistant Suzanne to be carried off to Gryylth and metamorphosized into the tall warrior woman Alouzon Dragonmaster.

But could a twentieth-century social justice advocate like Suzanne survive in a world at war, and win acceptance among a people to whom women were second-class citizens? Did survival mean succumbing completely to the persona of Alouzon? And as an enemy wizard began to draw upon primal magic, could even the combined might of Dythragor’s and Alouzon’s Dragonswords ward off the powers that threatened to tear this world apart…?

i read this book almost 20 years ago and it was a solid story. the ai narrator mispronounces words often enough to break the flow of thebstory for me and there are several spots where the recording just failed to be words... mere electrical hum sounds.
it is almost like they rendered the file and put it up for sale without any quality checking done.

a solid story marred by AI mispronunciations
