Grade A - It is getting better again

I must admit book 3 and 4 almost made me give up on the series. The main reason was because of Frisha and Mousious. I absolutely cannot stand Frisha, I seen a comment below saying they liked Rez's relationship with frisha and I knew for sure the reviews were going to be bad if they truly like her. She held him back and she was not a good fit I am sorry you can just tell. Anyways I will go over some spoilers below

** Bad parts: It started off with Frisha. I almost stopped listening to it when I heard her. I can't bear it. there is more to say about this, but it will go into the good parts. LOL. I also believe that many of the characters are still too naive. I like Wesson a lot, but come on he needs to come into his own for sure and stop with the questioning. I agree he must control himself, but he needs to just come into his own already. He seems easily influenced especially whenever he was at the mage tower. She easily handled him. The wolf/person Rez bonded was weird. I like her, but it was still weird. The whole battle at the end didn't make sense. there were to many different figures missing

** Good Parts: we finally get more answers. We also get to meet more people who I actually liked. I like how the elves act. hahaha. Especially when they express their feelings at the end of a sentence like a period. I like Azariah or however you spell it. I don't want to give to much away, but what happened to Frisha was not good yet it made me feel sorry for her. so that was good (bc as you can tell from above I don't like her. LOL). Yes this book plays with your emotions which is pretty good Every book should do that if it is a good story. Nick always does good. Oh Tam does a good job as well.

I will not give up on this series. I know it will get better. The ending was kind of hmm... weird as well it just seemed like Bang Boom End and then a new beginning. hahahaha. Anyways you can tell I get excited about stories, but this was one of my favorite series. Please don't be like Patrick Rothfuss and wait 10+ years for the next book. I hate that

What?

What is happening? All the previews books are fantastic. They explain and leave things clear. This book does clear up a some storylines that have happened in previous books. This book feels rushed compared to the book 1-4 though. I still love the storyline and the characters it’s just missing the details that we have seen previously . And Nick’s reading can bring anything to life!

New twist to the epic tale of the Rez

Rezkin’s constant infallibility was put into question during this latest epic storyline by Kel Kade. Even though, at times at least, it seemed that this was taken a little further than need be, the new concepts and even peoples in this saga were well introduced and hopefully leading to an eventual spin-off and future books in this series.

Two complaints, though: some of the new series by Kade are solid, I just wish more time writing was dedicated to Dark Tidings. Secondly, and because I enjoyed the simple nature of an infallible MC, I hope this new “role” for Rezkin in future books depicts the Rez as the RUTHLESS unstoppable force he had previously maintained (elf or not) <- Slight Spoiler*

Need more!

I was frustrated when I started to realize I was getting to the end of this book... I love this story and this was an excellent continuation. As always, I highly recommend this series.

Fabulous new world! Amazing story telling! Bravo!

Amazing! This is book five in this series. If you like Harry Potter and the Shadow Hunter series you will absolutely love this new world. Nick Podehl is amazing, right up there with Jim Dale as an amazing story teller! Start with the first 4 books then take a side trip to "Mage of no Renown" then read this book. I'm about to re-listen for the third time in six months. I look forward to the paper copies so I can put this in my classroom. So far there has been no cussing or sexual content in this series. There are very graphic battles though so I'd not share it with anyone below fifth grade. Amazing book!

5 because encouragement

I rated this 5 because I want to strongly encourage the next book in the series.
With that said I thought the pacing felt rushed. Rez bumps into some really cool, fairy tale content, but that’s the problem, I feel like for the build up, the content was not explored all the way. And the.big battle happens, and the we have conclusion. Each one of these discoveries was big enough to warrant many many more chapters.
With that said, it could be just how the story goes, the writing is good and the narration is superb.

very nice

I will have to listen to it again before I provide a proper review. but upon first read through it was good. it cleans up some threads, while producing just a couple more. this minor story finishes a major story arc, but not the whole story arc.

I eagerly await the next installments of the series. though I am oddly apprehensive about the direction the story will take. but hey it is supposed to be the story the author would want to read, and the characters make their own choices.
