Publisher's summary

Falling in love changes everything.

Three bad things I learned this year:

  • People you trust lie, even parents.
  • That hot guy, the one who's totally into you, might not be the one.
  • Things are not always how they appear.

Three good things I learned this year:

  • Best friends are always there for you, even when they're far away.
  • That other hot guy, the one who remembers your birthday, just might be the one.
  • Oh, and things are not always how they appear.

Anna Sanders expected an anonymous (and uneventful) senior year until she crossed paths with rich and sexy Jack Kyser and his twin sister, Lucy. Pulling Anna into their extravagant lifestyle on the Gulf Coast, Lucy pushed Anna outside her comfort zone, and Jack showed her feelings she'd never experienced - until he mysteriously withdrew.

Anna turned to her internship at the city paper and to her old attraction to Julian, a handsome local artist and rising star, for distraction. But both led to her discovery of a decades-old secret closely guarded by the twins' distant, single father.

A secret that could permanently change all their lives.

Thou the storyline took place in a high school. the character did not sound like student more like adults. they were to world savvy, the main character was more so.

Good Story!

I have had this book on audible for a few years now and came across it while scrolling for something to listen to. I'm glad I found it and now I want more.
Anna is a senior in high school and without her BFF. She just wants to go unnoticed and finish the year and head to college. But when she bumps into Jack Kyzer and his twin Lucy her world changes, I'm not sure it was for the best though.
Jack and Lucy are from the golden side of the tracks. They live in a place compared to where Anna lives. When she sees Jack in one of her classes, they seem to be drawn to each other, the sparks are there and there is a simmering heat beginning between them. But Jack seems a little standoffish, he wants to be with her one minute, and then the next he doesn't.
And then there is Julian LaSalle, he is a really good friend of Anna's and her BFF was sort of dating him. Now that the BFF has moved away, does Anna want to date Julian? Does she see him as boyfriend material? What will happen between her and Jack?
This is a first for me from this author and I really enjoyed this story. I can not wait to read more in this series and see what happens with Anna, Julian, Jack, and Lucy.
I really enjoyed the narrator Christy Romano, she was good.

Ummmmm is there an ending?

Book was set up to have a great reveal at the end. Seems the author was running late for dinner and mashed it all together in the end.

great intro to series

Loved the story. I was torn between the two love interests and was happy to have the ending show the lean towards the one at the end.

Excellent! but beware it's a cliffhanger ending

What a wonderful book, so well written. It has everything , romance, family, small town, friendships, and mystery. Although the focus is mainly a romance about young love. The book follows multiple couples including an adult couple too. Great character development plus it unfolds a mystery that keeps you riveted to discovering the secret(s).

This is a cliffhanger book though, book 1 in a series of 4 that build upon each other.

Narration is very good. Going in my favorites file.

I loved this so much!

What made the experience of listening to Dragonfly the most enjoyable?

Mainly everything.

What other book might you compare Dragonfly to and why?

I honestly do not think there should be a comparison, because each book is amazing in their own way.

What about Christy Romano’s performance did you like?

I love how the narrator drew me in to every aspect of the story. Not only did she bring each character to life, but I could easily visualize each scene unfold before my eyes. A movie in my ears, without the actual visual.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I did not find much wrong with the performance, though I would say that I would have liked a bit more animation in the narrator's voice at some points. More emotional. But other than that, I loved the performance.

Dragonfly

Found a new author I love!! Although this is a young adult story, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Rich family, average family, loving 2 people but in different ways, it all comes together. Can’t wait to read the next book!
