A Time War. A Broken Bloodline. One boy and his dragon caught between the past and the end of the world.

When college dropout Nathan Thorne follows a tugging compass and a trail of impossible coincidences, he thinks his life is coming apart. Instead, he discovers the truth. His father is a missing time soldier. His childhood was stolen and reassembled in a different decade. And the strange nightmares that haunt him are not dreams at all… they are echoes of a war across history that has already begun.

Ripped from ordinary life and thrown into Banifree, a city that exists outside of time, Nathan is bound to Braegor, a legendary dragon shaped by his own past sins. Together, they join the Wyrmguard, riders who defend the fragile Core Flows of history from fracture and corruption. Their enemy is Lucien Vale, a brilliant survivor from a devastated future who believes that rewriting history is the only way to save humanity.

Perfect for fans of Fourth Wing, Percy Jackson, and time twisting epics, the DragonFlash Saga delivers:

  • Talking dragons with human pasts and heavy secrets
  • A found family of riders, hackers, and time lost legends
  • High stakes battles that collide history, science, and myth
  • Emotional depth, mental health themes, and real heart beneath the chaos

The timelines are cracking. The Skipping Stones are waking.

Start the DragonFlash Saga today and ride with Nathan and Braegor before history shatters for good.

Dragonflash by Brad Beatty is a solid, well-crafted story that kept me engaged for most of its runtime. The plot includes several twists I genuinely didn't see coming, and they add a lot of value to the overall experience.

This is a good pick for readers who enjoy stories built around time-related twists and shifting timelines. Beatty weaves these elements into the plot in a way that rewards close attention and mostly pays off in satisfying ways. I'll admit time-shifting narratives aren't always my strong suit as a reader, so I occasionally found myself re-reading a section to make sure I was tracking things correctly, but that's more a reflection of my own reading style than any fault of the writing.

The book also includes some references that felt close to home, adding a layer of personal resonance that made the story stand out a bit more.

Overall, this was a good read with some real highlights. The twists were a strong point, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys layered plotting with payoffs worth waiting for.

3.5 out of 5 stars.
