Publisher's summary

Despite all odds, Lilith has gained acceptance from two heroines who should hate and fear her very existence.

Gina and Rachel have agreed to help Lilith's attempt to get the death sentence on her head rescinded, but they have to work carefully. Their time runs short, though. Doctor Johnson's plots advance, and other villains are infiltrating San Francisco.

In the end, the question becomes what to do when Lilith's identity is discovered, and all hell breaks loose. Despite the risk of death bearing down on her, Lilith decides that she's tired of simply running away.

Enjoyable but as a romance it misses

the story played well and the narrator did great with voicing.
My biggest complaints with Medrano's writing is that, while the characters are lesbian or bi, and freely admit to it in dialogue, we as readers get told not shown. the physical contact is quite chaste, a quick peck on the lips or cheek, letting someone lay against the MC. It's okay to let readers see what's going on behind closed doors. it's okay to show actual romance between characters instead of a quick kiss or side hug. some heart to heart conversations, them having fun together, or special moments when the characters realize they love one another.

Bored out of my mind the whole way.

I grew up reading comics, and was excited about queer representation and a story about a healthy poly relationship. I figured since he was writing other stuff between instillations if this trilogy he might grow as a writer, but the emotion expressed by the narrator is the second worst I've ever heard on audible, it was almost like it was just a paycheck and she phoned it in, even the non-robot characters sounded only slightly less robotic and there is a lot of over explaining, I get Lilith's limited experience is a factor, but even the other characters nowhere near her over explain everything in exposition and most of it is stuff that is unnecessary filler, almost like the author doesn't know how people speak to each other in a social setting. I never thought I would be bored by a story about super heroes, this proved me wrong.

Good addition

They talk entirely too much before fighting. that the problem with most villians but heroes are killing me with getting into the act. They take more abuse when the stand and listen. Other then that it was a good installment

Better than I thought it would be!

You might want to read the first book but it's not necessary. This book stands alone.
