wonderfully immersive narration
I loved listening to this book in the author’s familiar
voice. He certainly has a way with words. This Would be a wonderful book to listen to in the dreary days of winter as you await the gardening season. He took a couple of jabs at Americans that stung a little but overall a wonderful book.

A nice chat…
Monty never fails to entertain and illuminate. I listened as I gardened and it felt as if we were having a friendly chat. Yes, the conversation was one-sided…just as I imagine it would be should I be lucky enough to meet him in person.

One of my new favorite books.
I loved this book, and I have enjoyed listening to it as I putter around in the garden. Monty Don is a fantastic author, and he writes about the garden and the natural world in a way that is incredibly appealing. And also very down to earth, and lacks much of the garden snob stuff I feel I’ve come across in other books. Each page is clearly suffused with his love of plants, planting and gardening and he’s included a wealth of information about each season and many different types of plants in this love poem to the garden.

This book is a wonderful introduction or review for when you are planning your garden.
His voice is fantastic and calming, perfect for winding down after a busy day.
Note: I did buy the book so I could have pictures and found it great for getting the spelling on certain plants.
