Story
Most days, Anwen regrets working at a funeral home. With the residents no longer inclined to stay in their coffins where they belong, she’s got her hands full making sure everyone follows the rules: In the funeral home, there is no screaming, no murdering, no mutilation, no possessions, no kidnappings, no resurrections, and no cursing of any type. Be quiet and stay polite. The day Old Man McGregor decides to take a walk and disturbs her peace, Anwen learns there’s a lot more to the basement in the funeral home than a vampire and a handsome gentleman on ice.

Story
Bailey Ember Gardener Quinn should’ve read the manual on caring for an incubus before marrying hers. The marriage license hadn’t mentioned anything about their sexy, insatiable ways. If she doesn’t get a single night of undisturbed rest soon, she’ll snap - or go on a napalm bender. Either would work. Recruiting Tiffany “Perkette” Perkins to be her partner-in-crime isn’t the best idea, but nothing says fun quite like a road trip, and Perkette the Misdemeanor Collecting Queen could teach the devil a thing or two about having a good time.

The last thing Reed Matthews needs in his life is a kitten, but when an orphaned tabby suckers him into becoming her caretaker, he’s in for the ride of his life. Add in an angel determined to meddle in his affairs, a devil with an agenda, and a bucketful of bad omens, and he’ll count himself fortunate if he survives the clash between heaven, hell, and his ex. In this anything goes romp, there’s no kitten around: If Reed wants to survive and regain control of his life, his only hope lies in the hands of an elf and his ex, a woman he’s sworn to never see again.

Story
Why would anyone put a mermaid and a gorgon in the same room together? While Tulip enjoys being alive, her lineage brings her nothing but trouble. Snakes eat fish, and the mer love tearing apart their serpentine nemeses with their hands and teeth. As for the gorgons...she’d rather not think about them at all. The last thing Tulip wants is to rule the mer kingdom. First, she can barely swim. Second, she’s packing more than her fair share of her father’s genes. Third, what is a landlocked princess supposed to do with an aquatic kingdom?

Publisher's Summary
Layla, a recovering drug addict, reformed kleptomaniac, and general troublemaker, believes she has a one-way ticket straight to hell to go with her general rap sheet. Instead of jail time, she’s ordered to perform 90 days of community service.
Her job is simple: She must keep two unicorns out of trouble. It doesn’t take her long to learn the truth. She’s been assigned to a dose of double trouble, and wherever the unicorns go, chaos and mayhem follow in their wake.
One wants to take over the world. The other wants to get into her pants. Unless she pulls out all the stops, Layla won’t escape her community service time single or sane.
Warning: This novel contains magic, mayhem, unicorns, romance, and bodies. Proceed with caution.

Narrator killed the snark in the book.
First of all. I love RJ Blain’s books. I stumbled across them while looking for a new author to stalk and binge read. I have purchased this book on Kindle and was randomly laughing out loud as I was reading it. (Oftentimes my hubby was startled awake at night from my donkey laugh). When it came out on audible I was screaming like a girl who was announced as the Homecoming Queen and bought the book. As I listened, the puns that were written didn’t have the same effect as reading it myself. The narrator just read the jokes as if it was just words. No feeling. I am going to keep the audio because I love the author but I am not a fan of the narrator on this story.

primarily dialoguedriven story
I love the series and am really disappointed. It pains me to leave this review. "Double Trouble" is 75% conversation 20%confused reflection on the main character's part and 5% action. The reader gets talked to death, and in a roundabout way. The premise for the story is solid and if you're one who loves dialog led stories you may enjoy it. Unfortunately, if you have read any of the rest of the series you will know that isn't the normal, balanced format. I listened to this title as an audio book and regret the time spent. Should you choose to read the story I would suggest the book as some of the narrators voices totally wreck the characters with efforts so flat they sound robotic. My attention kept wandering which is highly unusual as a voracious audiobook reader. I will still try the next couple of books, there's always hope this was a one-off.

Double trouble with sass, attitude and curiosity
This book is great! The narrator nailed the sass, attitude, innocence and crazy that the book contains. Leela is an innocent who has been wrongly jailed her while life. It’s about to get turned upside down when two troublesome unicorns come storming into her life. Definitely listen/read this book, I don’t want to spoil it!
