Publisher's summary

One stolen baby. Two desperate strangers. One night of terror.

The USA Today and Sunday Times top 10 best-selling author returns with a dark and twisty psychological thriller.

She saved your life.

When Nina almost dies during a disastrous blind date, her life is saved by a waitress called Angel. But later that evening, Nina is surprised by a knock on the door. It’s Angel - and she’s pointing a gun at her.

Now she’ll make you pay.

Minutes later, Angel’s younger brother, Lucas, turns up, covered in blood, shielding a stolen newborn baby in his arms. Nina is about to endure the longest night of her life - a night that will be filled with terror and lead her to take risks she would never have believed herself capable of....

Critic reviews

Praise for Cass Green: "A gripping page-turner with a twisted ending. Brilliant!" (Psychologies)

"Dark, gripping and totally compelling. A genuine page-turner." (Alex Lake, best-selling author of After Anna)

"A beguiling thriller, beautifully written and suffused with a delicately rising sense of menace which builds to a nerve-shredding climax. Once again Cass Green has written a book which you’ll happily be held captive by." (Eva Dolan)

Just try and stay awake

I hate to not like a book...I really get that an author pours themself into their work. But that just can't be the case with this book. There was never one single moment of suspense or dread or anticipation or interesting characters or storyline...it was a slog from beginning to end. The main characters and the events they were caught up in were the most boring you could possibly put on paper...I really did FORCE myself to finish in the hopes there would be something to redeem the book...there was not. Use your credit more wisely than I used mine.

Good, not great

The title works really well with this novel. starts a bit slow but takes off and doesn't look back. The narration was good. Character development was well done. I will read more from this author.

very good book

I always love a book with a good twist in it. this book did have a good twist but it was a book that was a little predictable. I really did get into it but I saw a lot of what was coming

Didn’t do it for me

I love Cass Green but this just didn’t do it for me. I also love love Anna Bentinck. Narration was great, writing is good, story was boring, or rather it never took off. I was shocked to see I had 30 minutes remaining and I never felt a connection to anyone. I will still be first in line for her next book, as her others are among my absolute favorites.

Boring

This book is so slow, it never got my attention. Very predictable and a waste of money/credits.

WOW!

Very engaging book. I loved the struggle for Nina. Her maternal instincts for Angel, Baby Zach and her own sweet son.

Edge of your seat story!

From the beginning of the story I was pulled in and couldn't stop listening. A definite plus to add to your library. If you want a book that has action, jaw dropping situations and loveable characters this is it. It began one way with you really not liking some of the characters but you might change your mind. Without saying to much this book is a rollercoaster ride and you won't be disappointed. Loved it! 😀😀😀😀

nothing happened

I can't really write what I think without spoiling it. Not that there was really anything to spoil. Kept guessing things about what was coming but there was nothing that required guessing. I'll stop here. But if you've read a lot of these psychological thrillers then just pass on this one.
