Publisher's Summary

Death has always stalked single mother Allie Callahan. For the first time in her life, she has found a fragile sort of happiness living a quiet, peaceful existence in East Texas with her young son, Sammy, and her adoptive mother.

Still, Allie fears she may be susceptible to the same mental illness that destroyed her serial-killer mother and brother. She's haunted by the idea that she could become incapable of caring for Sammy.

When twelve-year-old twins Zoe and Carrie arrive on her doorstep late one night, their parents slain in a vicious double homicide, Allie's strength and sanity are put to the test. What did the twins see on the night of their parents' horrific murder? They are too frightened to say.

Soon faced with a series of menacing phone calls, a rising body count, and the pressure of keeping the girls and her own son safe, Allie fears she'll lose her mind - and her one shot at happiness - once and for all.

Narrator drove me nuts.

The second book had a superb narration. This one did not. I had to stop listening.

Interesting story

Don't Say a Word is definitely a worthwhile listen, but it is not a book I would listen to again. It is a story of deeply troubling and deadly mental illness and its impact on innocent family members. There is also a twist on 2 murders of family members that I did not predict.

Didn't predict the ending

This series has been so much fun to listen to. It was sad to hear about so much mental illness in the lives of so many people, but these characters are trying to make positive changes in their lives. This last book was an interesting story and a good way to end the series.

Unexpected shockers at the end!

I LOVE it when I get surprised by plot twists in a book! Jennifer Jaynes does it again in “don’t say a word”. My heart was racing at the end! Excellent read.

Stunning Conclusion!!

Jaynes continues to surprise and keep readers engaged. The third novel in this series had plenty of suspense and plot twists. I never saw the end coming, which says a lot about her talent. New characters were introduced in this one and added largely to the story line. Will definitely be looking forward to her next book.

Wtf

6 freaking hours into this book and I’ve been waiting for something interesting to happen. Seems like it was going to happen a few times but... in an effort to create suspense maybe?... the author cuts out to a different situation. Instead generally you get to listen to a 4 year old boy whine instead. Why there is so much of this apparently completely insignificant character in the book doing things that don’t appear to have any bearing on any storyline is baffling. And yes the interesting situation is barely revisited if at all. If something interesting doesn’t happen I’m going to return this book.

Oh look mommy is taking us to the store and I wanna go and it’s not nice for you to say that that’s a bad word And let’s go make snow angles!
