Publisher's summary

It was supposed to be just one night in the cabin: one night for Lottie and her brand new stepsister, Jade, to try to get along. When a solar flare causes a massive blackout—no power or cell signal—Lottie knows they've got a long night ahead of them.

Then, in the dark, someone else shows up at the cabin—a stranger named Alex, claiming to be lost and needing shelter from the coming snowstorm. But later that night, Lottie spies him in the driveway talking to two mysterious men in a pickup truck, and she's sure he's lying about why he's here.

Before Lottie can find out more, a fire forces her, Jade, and Alex out into the blizzard, where they must rely on one another to get to safety—wherever that is. In the remote freezing Tahoe wilderness, they have to survive more than just the elements. Soon it becomes clear that Alex's accomplices are hunting for all three of them in a scheme that's gone too far and taken a chilling, deadly turn.

Beautifully Written Fun YA

Lottie and Jade are a fun pair to ride out a blizzard in Tahoe with. Lottie is a strong protagonist who isn’t keen on family. When she’s forced to stay in a cabin in the woods with her new step-sister, who too isn’t very excited about having a new sibling, the girls are forced to put aside their differences in order to survive a harrowing storm, a stranger, and a couple of men who would like to see them dead. Don’t Let in the Cold is a perfect book to read if you like storms, cabins, and danger.

LOVELY BUT LONG

I went in with high hopes for this book , but let me tell you it was VERY long ! It was overly detailed , the storyline had so much possibility to be AMAZING , but it was dragged out to be honest with you , still a good read that I would recommend but be prepared , I wouldn’t read twice .

Meh

I had high hopes for this book. It was a recommended read. It started off great & was looking forward to what came next but I felt like it was all over the place. Chaotic 🥲 I kept reading until the end still holding on but I was disappointed all the way until the last work. It was very…. Bland.

Meh

Very Repetitive and very predictable. It’s also too long for this type of story. Didn’t like it because it was from a child’s point of view.
