Is white privilege in the United States creating another slave "caste" with the the War on Drugs by targeting only people of color? Drug war and prison expert Glenn Langohr says no. He illustrates that drug addiction is colorblind. Using his life in and out of prison as a meth dealer, Glenn outlines how political "tough on crime" platforms and a 99% conviction rate have more to do with mass incarceration.

Glenn goes on to say that "playing the race card" in regards to the drug war is enabling the blame game and fosters resentments that lead to more addiction, crime and mayhem. He proposes solutions using his own recovery and that of others, including blacks, who have climbed out of an overzealous justice system.

The author has been to the bottom, suffered and found his redemption. Now he shares his stories with all of us. I find his perspective on the drug war and that white advantage that is all the rage currently. Give it a listen. It’s a view point that one doesn’t normally get to see from the safety of ones home. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

A frank and honest view from the bottom

I thought your book was very informative in a down to earth common style piece. I find it very inspiring and heroic of you to be one of the very few people to start or state this type of diolog in today's Victom claiming society.

The rebuttal was a little slow coming out, the first part of this audio book was more of a testimonial, but when he gets to his rebuttal he nails it. People like the racist Chanelle Helm are just fueling the fire of the claimed white privalage, she says white people should give their property to people of color....Why don't they just work for it like everyone else did. Thank's to Glenn for allowing me to receive this audio book for free, this is my voluntary unbiased review.

First off, the authors premise is great. I like that he is open minded enough to self reflect and is honest about it. I just think the book could have been more. Perhaps a little longer and provided more detail. Maybe approach the book in a different narrative formate and then lapse into first hands account instead of using his voice the entire book. Maybe he could write two books and combine them to make the book longer. I wished it could have been more. He spends a lot of time defining who he is and giving us his story and the the last quarter of the book, the part that really starts to tie into the title and premise goes by very fast. More detail and elaboration here would have helped. Felt more like a biography then work on white privilege. However, this did lend a lot of credibility to his points. All in all, I think this is a good book, and it’s just early in this writers development.

I received this book for free in an exchange for a review.
