Beautiful Story

This is the second half of a duet that I accidentally listened to first lol

There were only a few parts I was a little lost on and I will be correcting that by going back and diving into Surrender.

However the only thing I disliked about this story was her slimy ex-husband. HOWEVER his character is so real and true to life. Money rules his world and nothing else.

Love is what triumphs in the end though. ❤️😍

Brilliant

What a truly remarkable conclusion to Gareth’s story. The narrators all did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. I just loved their accents and duet narration is my favourite. I freely admit to shedding a few tears, such was the performance and the story. I did not want this book to end.

This Was Emotional In More Ways Than One

I read and reviewed this last Harris Brothers book but even though I knew this was the end it was not going to stop me from listening to this story. There was no way that having listened to the previous four books that I was going to miss the chance in getting to experiencing this family one last time. I have come to enjoy these voice actors telling me the latest tale of a family I will always equate with the sport of soccer - excuse me, football.

One thing that I picked up on not too far into the story is that this was going to be the most emotional - I like it when I know I'm right. Having Mr. Watt, Ms. Goodeve, and Ms. Cole telling me the story added to that emotion. This is an emotional story anyway but having someone read it to you increases that level of emotion. I was at work while I was getting toward the end and I had a few tears in the corner of my eye and wouldn't you know that I didn't have a tissue on me at the time.

This is one thing that our author is good at. Her words have an effect on you. One way or another those words will touch your heart. The family she has so lovingly created will also touch your heart. In a way it's hard to give them up but every time I see a football game I will expect to hear the word Harris. I'm also glad because I can listen to this family's story again any time I choose. But I'll also be glad to listen to anything this author has created as well as finding out what else these actors have put a voice to. And if I ever see their names along with Ms. Daws, I know I'm in for a great time.

I voluntarily reviewed an Audiobook copy of this book.

Amazing Amy Daws!!!

Wow, what a fantastic end to a great series. Like all the other books there’s humor, emotion and most importantly a HEA. The narration is top notch and makes you wish all books were done in duet.

A winner as oldest Harris brother finds happiness beyond the football/soccer pitch

This was the culmination of the Harris Brothers story though not that of friends and extended family. It also provided some resolution to some of the family drama with some touching scenes. There were several subplots, some which went nowhere like Sloans love of horses, and some very hot scenes as Gareth and Sloan flirt with a very mild version of BDSM. There was not resolution on Sloan’s career though there was a natural progression on Gareth’s. The one part of the story arc I was unhappy with involved Sloan’s horrible ex, Cal. I could see her giving him an amount of money equivalent to the bonus amount had they gotten back together just to get rid of his absurd proposals but to give in entirely and then later for him to profit from abandoning his daughter was pretty reprehensible. I would have thought a little threat of bad press at his actions would have worked better and not left the reader with the let down of a bad guy “dominating “ financially by behaving badly. Some additional retribution was warranted.
The duet style of narration really helped this performance as Will Watts tends to swallow the last syllable of words in emotional scenes so having Piper Goodeve pick up those moments helps to smooth out the narration. Hopefully there will eventually be a story centering more on the not too old senior patriarch Vaughn now that his kids are settled- other than the mysterious illegitimate American son mentioned at the end of Santino’s book. Looking forward to that next story and welcome addition in narration.
