Publisher's Summary

After his wife loses interest in him, 50-year-old Dave Barndon turns to the dark side of the internet and sex chat rooms. There, he finds willing partners who are happy to fulfill his needs with no strings attached. But they aren't the only ones looking to play.

When a woman he had an affair with is murdered, he becomes the prime suspect. He thinks his alibi is solid, until a second woman is murdered, and then, a third. He fights for his freedom and redemption, while the body count rises.

He must figure out who is framing him and why, before the killer strikes again.

This has what I want in an audiobook

With content rich in character development, and suspense provided by the many plot twists, the story is enjoyable without requiring laser-focus concentration to follow.
Mr. Boyes' narration is the perfect complement to the prose. His inflections draw attention to integral bits but are never overbearing.
So no, not THAT Stephen King, but relaxing and interesting; what I buy an audiobook for.

I can’t stand this!!!!!

I read the reviews, I listened to the preview, AND I STILL WASTED A CREDIT!
The reading was really bad. I don’t think the reader had ever done this before.
The plot is plausible, even interesting but it wasn’t translated into a good story. Being read poorly didn’t help. I need a shower after listening to 4 chapters. I wish this was a real book so I could throw it away, YUCK!

NOT Stephen E. King!

When it first started I wondered why the narrator had a bad - to me - Aussie accent!
Because it’s NOT
Stephen “The Shining” et al King.
Not even close.
The story sort of bad soft porn.
Hard to say if the performance was bad because of the material or just because it was bad.

So Hard to Get Past Narration

The story was okay, but the hesitant, unprofessional narration kept pulling me out of the story. Just terrible reading.

If you play with Fire !

David Barndon is seduced by the volume and availability of sexual partners seeking satisfaction on the internet.
He graduates from chatroom's to a bizarre site called After dark, specializing on women who want to be dominated, as sex slaves. Eventually converting the on line contacts to actual physical meetings, he stirs the pot of suspicious partners, and heartbroken lovers,
Then the murders begin, The police quickly focus on him and reveal his lifestyle to the disgust of the community, his family and friends. He finds himself frantically trying to prove his innocence, as the bodies pile up.
With many twists and turns, he eventually faces his adversary.
Maybe not "the Stephen King", but a great tale nonethless

Avoid this misogynist drivel

The "hero" thinks he's doing women a favour by having casual hook ups with random strangers so they can enjoy his big penis, while his wife of decades works night shift as a nurse.

God. I hated this audio. my ears feel soiled
