Publisher's Summary

What sets Docker apart is the way that it parses out information, which is done through the use of containers. A container allows developers to ship out applications that already include everything they need to run properly, regardless of the environment they find themselves in. This cuts down on design time and potential headaches significantly, while also creating a uniform experience for users of the application, no matter what their personal situations may be.

Docker adoption rates have jumped in the past year by more than 40 percent, with more than 30 percent of all programmers currently using it to one extent or another. Don’t get left in the dust, listen to this five-book bundle today.

So many there but this is best

There are so many books, courses, etc about Docker, but the best way to learn rapidly growing technology is such a fundamental course, which provides really great balance between technical details and general understanding of the subject. Thanks a lot, captain!

Quality content

Fantastic amount of information and quality content. Content is updated. Thus far the course has helped me gain an understanding of using Docker day-to-day, I go back and relisten a lot of the content every so often as it is the best course I have found on this subject.

Amazing way

Best Audible course I've taken so far. Lots of practice and examples. Amazing way of consolidating docker knowledge. Great for total beginners as well as for people with some docker experience. Daniel explained and adressed questions I had when learning on my own

Sstart with this one

If you're looking for a Docker course, I can highly recommend that you start with this one. I've purchased close to 7 courses on Audible and can safely say that Daniel Jones sets the standard on teaching.

Introduction to Docker

A very good, thorough introduction to Docker, Docker Compose. The explanations are clear and careful. The breadth of the course is wide and the content can be confusing. This course does about as good of a job as anyone can hope for in clearing up the confusion. Lots of excellent hands-on examples and guidence help you to build confidence. This course is, of course, only an introduction, and you should be prepared to pore over many different pages of Docker documentation later on. But you will feel ready and prepared to do that after finishing this.

Bahl explained the concepts well

Experienced instructor, great exercises, solid production. I was a complete Docker newbie before taking this course. I spent some time reading the official Docker documentation but wanted some more structured learning and practical exercises thorugh voice narration. Bahl explained the concepts well, providing a good introduction to each topic, followed by practice exercises and included solutions if you get stuck. Hugely increased my knowledge and confidence in using the Docker system. Having completed the course I feel I can make use of Docker in my work and I am also equipped with now being able to know where to look when I want to learn more about specific Docker features in the future. Great course, would thoroughly recommend. Enjoying learning about docker!

Gives me insights and knowledge

Excellent content. The place I work uses containers extensively, and this course gives me insights and knowledge that I put to use right away. I especially enjoyed the discussions near the end of the course. Can't wait to start on "Simple and Effective Strategies to Execute Docker Programming (Volume 3)" and "Advanced Strategies to Learn and Execute Docker Programming" courses.

Start working with Docker

It's a really good course to start working with Docker. I describes base concepts and overview of philosophy behind Docker in very clear and interesting form. Also Bret is very committed to the course and participants so you'll find a lot of additional value besides lectures in the course itself. The only thing that I felt missing a little bit was a bit deeper dive into internals... but that would actually make the course reception more difficult for most of the audience probably. Its very detailed and who will be benefited to use this docker, great.

Super useful

As a software developer/architect/part-time devops, this course was super useful. I had seen docker files prior to taking this course (I'm a dev not a DevOp person) but I really didn't understand what was going on. Having taken and completed this course I believe I can confidently set up docker containers, swarms, etc as I might need to. I also really like the fact the course includes a slack channel to get questions answered or help answer questions as they arise either in the course or in ones work environment. One suggestion to students....I'd recommend against doing the exercises on Windows Home/Docker-toolkit if you can. It's much easier if you can use a linux box (I ended up throwing centos 7 on a PC that I wasn't using) I took advantage of the price of £18.29 though its very low on price as this book gives a lot.

More than worth it.

This course is outstanding, with tons of other resources such as a slack channel that other authors don't bother doing. This is well thought out and guided, I've learned a ton. More than worth it.

Perfect coverage of docker

This has been the perfect coverage of docker to a newbie like me that has had to rapidly go from 'curiousity's sake' to 'for an existing multi-service shared-config clustered enterprise app that has zero containerization support'. In addition to swiftly taking me through lots of docker concepts, from basics up to (so far for me - still haven't finished the whole course yet) swarm mode orchestration with multiple nodes, Dan has given invaluable help and re-steered my course correctly when I've started drifting away from best practices via his course's slack channels for which I'm equally grateful. "Docker with 5" couldn't be more apt, then. My time is far more valuable than Udemy's pricing (by orders of magnitude given you'll give and spend hours in the course), and so I compare this course's value against my time spent in it - if I had to start over and decide again whether to take the course or not, the answer is an easy yes I would take it again. I've got a dozen+ courses under my belt, all highly rated and all appreciated, and this one ranks in my top 3 of even those (the others in that 3 are in other disciplines, not about docker). So yeah, genuine 5 stars from me for this course, no doubts

Guided me the whole new way

The course guided me the whole new way of how to set up my local development environment. It guides me how to find and run docker images in a matter of few minutes. I will definitely add Docker in my toolkit.

Little piece of this world.

I met docker at last year and saw a little piece of this world. With this course, the doors opened to me and I discover a lot interesting things what docker can do. Congrats Daniel and keep teaching. The best Regards.
