Publisher's Summary

The solid base of every organization is its employees.

This is where the role of human resource professionals commences. To make their organization a force to reckon with, they need to recruit different candidates who are diverse in their cultural heritage, caste, sex, and even social-economic status.

Once you have various groups of employees in your organization, it leads to a diversified workforce, which can provide a powerful arsenal for growth opportunities in an organization.

Remember, by having a diverse workforce you can have people with different backgrounds who can share their individual experiences. These experiences can pave the way for a powerful workforce.

This book has been written with the perspective of providing you with practical illustrations of the problems faced by organizations when they are not diversified. We have highlighted real-life case studies that will help you understand the need for a diversified workforce in today’s organization.

Using the case studies as a cue, you can gain useful insights into various initiatives that an organization needs to take to inculcate diversity. We will also discuss how organizations can make their workforce more effective by providing a conducive environment to employees with diverse backgrounds.

We hope that this book will prove to be a catalyst for all leaders who want to invest in diversity and inclusion in their organizations using the HRM best practices.

Good content, but nothing new

I love this topic (DEIB), but I have read other books that are more ground-breaking in this sense and the narration of this one is very (VERY) monotone and boring - sorry to say.

Theoretical

it came across as very academic. I struggled to find many actionable insights to improve equality and inclusion especially in my organization which is already diverse. perhaps the most insightful chapter was that on communication. Almost everything else could have been gleaned from a Google search.

Excellent! A book for our time

Well researched, well written, with clear measured prose, all college administrators should read this and try to reverse course immediately. Keep up the great work David F. George. The narrator does a great job in a good rhythmic cadence, explaining the millions of dollars that get wasted on illogical nonsense such as "inclusion and diversity" in today's work places and colleges.

This is my go-to book! It's honest, user friendly, personal and really easy to understand and use as a guide for color-brave conversations. Every section is thought provoking. I use this book almost daily and have it as a suggested reading on our website of resources. Definitely a great guide for anyone that finds themselves facilitating conversations around race, diversity and equity.

This is a great resource

This is a great resource and not just for facilitators, but anyone struggling with diversity/inclusiveness issues and how to handle everyday situations as well as more atypical scenarios. Although I listen it in an afternoon, I return to it frequently and feel like I will grow with it over time.
