The book gave great depth and understanding to common leadership hazard zones without being critical and one-sided. a great leadership book! I only wish it came with a workbook!

Over the course of my 25 years in manufacturing, I've read countless leadership books and attended numerous seminars. A great guide for practical insight from real life experiences!

I found Ditch Command & Control Leadership: Transform Your Leaders from Boss to Coach to be a great guide for leaders. The book provides both thought-provoking insight as well as practical tools for leaders at all organizational levels. Particularly, the inclusion of real-life experiences provides credibility to Alissa’s coaching principles and is a valuable inclusion for the reader. For me, one of the most important components of her book, especially for leaders looking for programs to develop and transition their leaders, is where she addresses why many leadership programs fail to generate the expected ROI. She points to the fact that teaching leadership skills and competencies alone will not produce sustainable results and further addresses the criticality of first uncovering and addressing a leader’s mindset. This was pivotal to me as a leader, and I loved how she addressed it. This book motivates me further to continue my leadership journey and work harder on those areas and situations where I don’t always show up as a coach. Thank you, Alissa, for further inspiration to continue the journey!

Great coach with great advice is a great listen

Alissa has successfully coached many of our managers and executives for nearly a decade. She seems to be born to help individuals and organizations improve, but clearly she puts in a lot of personal effort to make it look so smooth. The BEST leadership book for all levels

Having read the hard copy already, I wanted to give the audiobook a listen as well. This is a perfect narrator to give the words the proper inflections for the message. As an avid audiobook person, I know how much the narrator makes a difference and this one hits the bullseye. If you aren’t normally a big reader of leadership books, this is the way to take advantage of the most significantly relatable to the real world book you will find. No matter what field or industry you are in, this book gives you common sense methods to improve yourself as a leader as you build leaders in your organization. The real life examples presented here will most likely have you seeing yourself in the same scenarios. I have utilized the hard copy book many times and keep in my office to refer to when I need a bit of a recalibration and reality check.
